SHOWREEL
NETWORKING
In my careers discussion with my tutor, I discovered my ideal new entrant role would be a Promo Producer at a marketing agency (in-house or not). I prefer a 9-5 fixed contract role over freelance as I like the security and I am comfortable with a routine. However, through my own research, I have discovered the role of a Creative Strategist. This role is a bridge between creative teams and media buyers. I would be responsible for planning campaigns that cater to clients and businesses while researching trends and compiling audience data. From my work in the Marketing and Recruitment team, my skills as a producer in film and my course in Digital Marketing, I believe I would more than competent taking on this role. I thrive in high-pressure environments, with tight schedules and deadlines. From presenting on camera, I will be able to present in front of clients and managers with confidence. I enjoy collaborating with creatives and developing campaigns with a team.
RECENT PROJECTS
LEVEL 2 DIGITAL MARKETING CERTIFICATION
I am currently studying at the University of Lincoln for a BA (hons) in Film Production, but also pursuing a Level 2 certificate in Digital Marketing through Burton and South Derbyshire College. Through this course I am gaining insights into different modes of business marketing including social media and email marketing. At my current role, I have experience in social media trends, applications and audiences, while also filming and editing videos for email campaigns. This course is boosting my knowledge in these areas, giving me a deeper insight into how to create a full email campaign plan and reasons behind different social media platforms.
PERSONAL PLATFORM
Creating my own professional YouTube channel has given me a platform to share my proudest work and showing the growth in my filmmaking skills. I take on similar roles in each film I make, yet I am continually learning new things with every project, expanding my experience, knowledge and personal skills. Having a YouTube channel is beneficial to me as it serves as a live portfolio, constantly updated with my work. It shows off my skills in cinematography, editing, marketing and visual style. It also shows hands on experience for my future career in Digital Marketing through content strategy, audience targeting and thumbnail graphics. My profile shows I can work independently and within a team, creating an online presence for myself.
MARKETING EXPERIENCE
During my time as a Student Video Producer and a Student Content Creator I have developed some valuable skills in editing on different platforms, Adobe Premiere Pro being the main source of learning. Before working in the Marketing and Recruitment team, I had a good but basic understanding of the software, shortcuts and editing specifically for promotion. With hands-on experience I have been able to refine technical skills and have also become better at asking for help when I need it, a past weakness of mine. As well as editing I have become more familiar with camera and lighting equipment. We have recently upgraded to Sony FX30 cameras on my course and at work. So being able to practice with industry standard cameras for promotional filming will set me up well for our graduation project. Taking part in student content creation has given me a different insight into social media marketing. I have learnt to edit on CapCut, how important B-roll is in social media video creation and how to present on camera for a wide range of promotional style videos. Overall, my role at the university has been beneficial for my own confidence skills, craft skills with editing and cameras, and has set me up with experience for my future in film marketing.
YouTube Video Examples
University of Lincoln and Lincoln City FC Partnership
I had the honour to film at the Lincoln City FC stadium, including interviewing important staff. Having an inside view of the club and the partnership between the university and club was so interesting to see how it is run, how the club gives offers to UoL alumni first (before other applicants) and what other opportunities are given to the university.
Varsity 2025!🦢
This year we hosted the annual Varsity Humber Games here in Lincoln. The games are between the University of Lincoln and the University of Hull. Our sports teams, from hockey and lacrosse to chess and computer science, competed against Hull's and we won for the 7th year in a row! I went around campus filming camera and phone b-roll, later editing the footage for an upbeat video with animation effects!
Lincoln Live Lounge | The Student Life Special
Taking part in a live streamed interview really boosted my confidence on camera and let me have a different insight into promotion. While editing and videography will help in my aspiration to become a Creative Director, knowing what it is like in front of the camera will benefit my skills in working with actors and interviewees, communicating with them to make them feel comfortable and knowing what is needed from a shoot for the post-production stage.
