Kia ora e te whānau, our final newsletter is here for the year. It was great seeing everyone at our picnic and prizegiving last week - and even better that the rain held off until 20 minutes after we finished! It was a wonderful evening, full of picnic fun on the field, beautiful singing in the hall and celebrating our awesome students. Congratulations to all the nominees and award winners.

2026 Class Structure
Today our students visited their new (for some) learning spaces with their 2026 teacher. Our class structure for 2026 will be; Inanga (year 0/1) Mrs Caroline Smeed Kōkopu (year 1/2) Mrs Kate Thompson Our year 0 - 2 students will be based downstairs in the same spaces as 2025. Inanga and Kōkopu will be supported by our lovely learning assistant Tara Murrie. Korimako (year 3/4) Miss Samantha Mottram Kererū (year 4/5/6) Mrs Clare Fielding Our year 3 - 6 students will be based upstairs in the same spaces as 2025. We are currently in the process of hiring another learning assistant to support our older students.
Final FriYAY
This Friday we will be wrapping up our FriYAY rotations by participating in a range of outdoor activities, which the student leadership groups have planned. We will be outside much of the day so make sure your child has been well sunblocked and has their hat with them. Students can wear mufti (no uniform). There is a possibility they may get facepaint on their clothing so keep this in mind when they choose their outfits! They also need to wear comfortable clothes they can move easily in. Our Iceblock Fundraiser will happen at lunchtime; please make sure all ice blocks have been preordered through this form by the end of today. We're also looking for donations of new, unwrapped gifts to be placed under our Christmas tree in the office. We will finish the day with water activities, so a change of clothes OR togs and rashshirt/t shirt that is fine to get wet are recommended. Don't forget a towel! Students are able to bring in their water guns. Please no water balloons.
End of Year Reports
At 3pm on Friday 12th December, student report pages will be available for viewing, with a curriculum highlight and general comment plus progress charts added. You can access this information by clicking in to the 'Nukumea Report 2025' page. If you want to know more about the terminology used in the progress charts, click 'About This Page' and it will bring up our Hero parent presentation. We will not be printing reports, however you are able to print your own copy if you wish by clicking the print icon at the top of the page. Until then, you will be unable to access the learning content on Hero. This is to allow for teachers to populate the charts and report page. Students who have not had 10 weeks at school (this affects our new entrant students or any new students that have started this term) will not be receiving an achievement report. Any new student who started with us in Term 4 can expect an update from their teacher as to how they have settled at Nukumea.
2026 Stationery
Stationery orders for 2026 are now open through http://www.myschool.co.nz/ Just type Nukumea into the school search bar and then select the class that your child has been placed in for next year. You will have received this information through Hero today and also your child spent time in class with their new teacher as well.
