Bringing Culture to Life Through Projects
Fourth grade students recently completed a unit on Native American history and culture, exploring the topic through a series of hands-on projects connected to their social studies lessons. As part of their work, students created wampum bracelets and pendants, ceremonial masks, drums, and detailed models of Native American villages. Each project helped students better understand the purpose and meaning of these items and how they were used in daily life and tradition.
To share their learning, students arranged a gallery-style display showcasing their projects. The exhibit highlighted the time, care, and creativity they put into their work, offering a look at how their understanding developed throughout the unit.
Thank you to Mrs. Thorp and Ms. Hillman for guiding students through this project and supporting their learning along the way.
