Computing and competitions! Week 5

This week the children have been learning how to create a digital story in Computing, entered into a writing competition and they also hosted their class assembly on Wednesday!

Our computing module has been about digital imagery. We have been taking photos on the iPads, editing them and then recording a voice over to narrate their stories. We showcased some of these in our class assembly on Wednesday and everyone was impressed!

In English, the children have entered an exciting writing competition where they got to create their very own superhero! They named and illustrated their superhero before adding labels and thinking about different ways to describe their superheroes. We’ve worked very hard - take a look at some of them!

Two children from our class have had a great time at The Alan Shearer centre this week!

Year 1 also received a Box of Delight on Thursday, that included artefacts from George Stephenson! We had a look at each object inside of the box and it was great to see how much knowledge the children had retained from learning about George Stephenson last term.

Well done for a fantastic week of learning Year 1!
