About Me
I'm a Multi-Disciplinary Artist from Australia. I do Content Creation about my art, crochet, photography and sometimes animation as I want to not only share my journey as an artist, but to also inspire others to venture out and discover their own unique creativity.
If there’s one thing I’ve always enjoyed, it’s watching 2D and 3D animated films. They had grasped my attention ever since I was young, and Walt Disney movies were the ones that I would watch on repeat. As I grew older, I developed a curiosity for the visual arts, and so I took to creating my own fictional worlds and characters. I ventured on to study at TAFE Queensland to do my Certificate III in Visual Arts and my Diploma of Visuals. After some deliberation, I continued on and applied for my Bachelor of Fine Arts (Animation) at Queensland University of Technology. It has been from these areas of study that expanded on my knowledge of the creative arts in both traditional and digital forms.
I used to always keep my art to myself and was afraid of sharing it because my imagination is unique to me. I thought others wouldn't appreciate it or make fun of it. Now I want to embrace my unique creativity and share it through videos to others so they too can express themselves creatively however they want.
Check out my Art Blog:
In this blog, I talk about the ups and downs of being an artist while being on the spectrum. It will be a combination of a learning blog and life experiences as well. Sometimes it can be hard as the mind of a neurodivergent person is vastly different to that of a neurotypical person. We can think of ideas that out of this world, and not everyone will appreciate them. But I know that if anyone is neurodivergent, and they want to make a difference in the world, that they can do it if they put their mind to it.
Check out my Animation Blog:
In this blog, I talk about the process of the Animation Pipeline, plus any ups and downs I had at university. It will mostly be a learning blog but with some life experiences as well for some context and examples. Animation is a whole new world of creativity because you're able to bring those art ideas to life in a completely new way. It can be challenging for anyone who are just starting out in animation, even if they've always wanted to know about it. A lot of the main areas of animation production is mentioned, a few are left out though I will provide references if you want to look more into them.
Despite only doing visual arts for my first two years of high school, I still enjoyed drawing my unique characters. It wasn't until after graduating high school, that I realised that I wanted to continue doing something creative but I didn't know what. After looking at different options, I settled for TAFE Queensland and did my Certificate III in Visual Arts. The following year I continued at TAFE and did my Diploma of Visual Arts. Then after TAFE I initially thought I'd continue with the Bachelor of Visual Arts. Instead, I went in a different direction and went to QUT and did my Bachelor of Fine Arts (Animation) and minored in Visual Arts. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
When I first initially started study at the Queensland University of Technology, I honestly thought I wouldn't do a good enough job. Needless to say, I did better than I thought I would. Plus, it was a really fun and interesting degree to do. You learn about pre-production that comes before you start making the 3D models, what brings characters to life, setting the mood of a scene, bringing all the scenes together to make a short film and so much more. I surprised myself with what I could create, and I well and truly passed and graduated with pride.
I visited England for a few months which was a change of pace for me as someone with anxiety and being on the spectrum. I've always wanted to go travelling but these things kept me in my comfort zone. Going on a plane for the first time was nerve-wracking but it was worth it. It was a photographer's dream come true and I was able to expand on those skills and captured some amazing landscapes to share with everyone back home.
