A note from Mr Higginbottom

Hello! We made it to the end of term! Thank you for supporting us this year - your children are fabulous and we love working with you to get the best outcomes for them. It has been such a busy year, but we're getting ready to do it all again next year!

A special goodbye to our year 6 children who leave us for their new secondary schools. We hope that they keep special memories of their time at Swinton Queen into the future, and that they give their absolute best and go on to achieve their aspirations. We wish them all the very best success for their futures.

We've said farewell to Mrs Levers today, who leaves us to take on new challenges. Thank you, Mrs Levers, for your dedication to our school and for the love and care you've given to Swinton Queen's children over 11 years here. Thank you, and good luck.

We re-open to children on Tuesday 3rd September at 8:40. Breakfast and after school club remains open for booking on Arbor. Have a fantastic summer!

Recent Events
We didn't let the British summer time get the best of us and we finally managed to get KS2 sports day underway this week. Well done to all the children who had a fab time but also showed some incredible displays of sportsmanship! We are so proud of you all!
The Y6 fun day went down a treat and we also got very luck with the weather! (Not pictured was the very impressive display of inflatables and Mrs Mac's face glitter station!)
We've also celebrated some amazing achievements today. A very big well done to: Rose Bradley and Rosie Pearson for their work this year as our With Me in Mind ambassadors, Theo Smith for the Margaret Parr award for Music and Drama, Darcy Leese for the Susan Beckitt award for Maths, Jaxon Doocey for the John Newey award for Resilience and Archie Walker for the Johnathan Law achievement in reading. We also learnt this week that four pieces of art that we submitted will be featured in St Margaret's Church calendar for 2025!
We also celebrated the children who achieved 100% attendance for this term with our second visit of the week from the ice cream van! Perfect weather for it too!
Online Safety

This week our Internet Safety Guide from the National College is information about worry and anxiety. Don't forget that you can talk to us if you're worried about your child's time online.

Have a lovely summer holiday!

Thank you for your continued support of our school and for supporting your child by ensuring they're at school on time and they read at least 4 times each week. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your child's time in school you can email enquiries@sqp.wwpat.org, find me on ClassDojo or chat to me at the start or end of the school day.

At Swinton Queen Primary School, children are aspirational, courageous and inquisitive; respectful of all.
