And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store? What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more? Y el Grinch, con sus pies de Grinch helados en la nieve, se quedó pensando y pensando: ¿cómo podía ser así? Venía sin cintas. Venía sin etiquetas. Winter Break & New Beginnings
As we head into winter break, I want to wish all of our families a season filled with rest, joy, and meaningful moments together. Winter break is a wonderful time to slow down, reconnect, and recharge after a busy first half of the school year. For our students, this break offers a chance to enjoy simple pleasures: playing outside on cool days, reading a favorite book, helping at home, or spending time with loved ones. Unstructured time can be just as valuable as busy schedules, giving children space to relax and reflect. With the start of a new year, we also step into a time full of new experiences, new lessons, new goals, and new activities. The new year doesn’t mean we have to be perfect, it simply means we get another opportunity to grow. Encourage your child to think about one small goal they’d like to work on, such as:
- Trying their best even when something feels hard
- Practicing kindness toward others
- Using calming strategies when emotions feel big
- Learning a new skill or hobby
As a school counselor, I love reminding students that every day is a chance to learn something new about themselves. Mistakes are part of learning, and growth happens when we keep trying. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. I look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed, confident, and ready for all the new opportunities the year will bring. Wishing you a safe, restful, and joyful winter break, and a happy new year!
Library Winter Reading Challenge
Use this link to enter! 👉🏽 Entry Form Over winter break, complete a square by doing the activity in that box (read, write, visit, share, etc.). Take a picture as proof each time you complete a square (example: a photo of the book cover, your reading spot, your bookmark, your library receipt, a page of your reading log—whatever matches the square). Fill out the Google form. ☃️How entries work- Each picture (Google Form) you send = 1 entry into the book prize drawing. Complete a full Bingo line (5 in a row) (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) = +1 BONUS entry. You can keep going! Every new square you complete and fill out a Google Form for earns another entry.The entry form can be found by scanning the QR code on the Bingo Sheet. ☃️Deadline-Pictures must be sent by January 5, 2026 ☃️Prize- Winners will be drawn to win a book! 🎉 Some books available are, but not limited to: Dog Man, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Babysitters Club, The Big Cheese, and Humble Pie. ☃️Important reminders! Volunteer Sign Up
Many hands make light work and we love our volunteers. We depend on our parents and volunteers to help make the best learning environment that we can for our kids. We encourage you to be an approved volunteer to help make a difference at school, sponsor fine arts events, chaperone field trips and work with students. All volunteers must submit an online application (every year) and upload a copy of your unexpired government-issued photo ID to the volunteer application.
Muchas manos facilitan el trabajo y amamos a nuestros voluntarios. Dependemos de nuestros padres y voluntarios para ayudar a crear el mejor ambiente de aprendizaje posible para nuestros hijos.
