Christmas Questionnaire

As part of their class project, pupils in Ysgawen want to find out which Christmas traditions and customs are important to different groups of people in our community.

They would like as many people as possible to complete their short survey. Please share with other family members. Diolch

Thank you to Andy at Forden Garage for giving permission to put our school banner up on the fence at the garage.

We urgently need a volunteer to fix it onto the fence. Could you help?

Christmas Fayre

Pupil Voice Groups have been busy planning their activities and stalls for the Christmas Fayre after school on Wednesday 4th December (3:15-5:15pm).

Thank you to parents who have offered their help at the Fayre.

Please send in any donations for the Bottle stall, Christmas goods stall and raffle. We will also need donations of cakes on the day. Thank you.

After School Club will be running. If your child will be attending ASC on Wednesday, please see Miss Williamson.

Pupils in Ysgawen will all be in the Community Centre at the end of the school day. Pupils in Collen and Bedwen should be collected from the gate as usual.

Even though primary school meals are free to all pupils, if you register for Free School Meals you can help your school benefit from funding because you have registered.

Registering for Free School Meals might also qualify you for other help and assistance, including school uniform clothing grants

To register is easy and confidential. You don't have to tell the school. (Click for link)

Who can register for Free School Meals?

To get free meals in Powys schools, the parents/carers must get one of the following:

  • Income Support
  • Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based)
  • If you are an Asylum Seeker getting support under the Immigration and Asylum Act.
  • State Pension Guaranteed Credit
  • Employment and Support Allowance - Income based
  • Child Tax Credit - as long as you are not getting an amount for childcare paid with your CTC, or getting Working Tax Credit. HM Revenue & Customs must also have worked out your household income as £16,190 a year or less.
  • Universal Credit - as long as your annual net earnings are £7400 or less
