Important Updates

Reported Incidents

Overall, based on all Service Users:

  • 26 incidents with no injuries: 8.46% of the service.
  • 6 minor injuries. 1.95% of the service.
  • 10 needed medical attention. 1.96% of the service.
  • 1 case requiring safeguarding. 0.32% of the service.

What lessons we learned? Lessons learned during this reporting period:

  • Staff should ensure that body maps are always updated after an incident.
  • Read through Birdie highlights and the task planner to provide more consistent and higher-quality care for service users.
  • Staff must read each service user’s care plan and risk assessments.
  • Please report all incidents to 01274 725012. If you are ever in doubt, just call.

Armistice Day

To mark Armistice Day this year, our wonderful colleagues Alan and Alison Aston from the Worcester branch dedicated their time and creativity to a meaningful act of remembrance. Together, they hand-sewed a collection of beautiful poppies, which were shared with service users and staff members across the service. Each poppy was made with care, symbolising gratitude for the courage and sacrifice of those who served and continue to serve. This thoughtful gesture not only honoured the spirit of Armistice Day but also brought a sense of unity and reflection to our community. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Alan and Alison for their kindness, craftsmanship, and commitment to supporting moments of connection throughout Assisted Lives. Their contribution helped make this year’s remembrance truly special for everyone involved.

Welcome To Bolton Villas

We’re delighted to announce that Bolton Villas will now be open 7 days a week, with Zatoon leading the way! This warm and welcoming space offers our service users the chance to come together, have fun, and take part in a variety of engaging activities. From games and arts & crafts to cooking sessions and group projects, there’s always something enjoyable happening. We have even brought a new vehicle to help us take service users here, so they don't miss out on all the fun. Under Zatoon’s friendly guidance, Bolton Villas is the perfect place to socialise, learn new skills, and make lasting memories every day of the week.

New Starters

This month we have had 5 new starters join our amazing office and support worker staff this month and have already been having a positive impact on the work environment, well done to our recruitment team for the hard work of making sure the people employed are the right fit for us. We have also trained over 60 members of staff whether that been new or old.

Good News Stories

AM

With the support of Assisted Lives Worcester, AM has been rebuilding his confidence and independence through healthy routines, social connection, and meaningful activities. Recently, a long-held dream came true when he visited Worcester’s High Rise Sky Lounge to see the city from above. For AM, it wasn’t just a view—it was a moment of pride, freedom, and reflection on how far he’s come. At Assisted Lives, we believe every step forward—no matter how small—is worth celebrating, and we’re proud to share this milestone in AM’s journey

TS

Anisa (Service Lead) and Sania (Care Coordinator), a big well done and thank you with helping complete in the flat of TS, we know it was extremely hard work getting all this completed but you guys still completed it regardless. TS has severe epilepsy, learning disabilities, she is drug resistant and has unfortunately recently had to have a leg amputation. So, to help make TS life a little easier her bedroom was redone and look at these amazing results.

Meet Our Employees of the Month

We’re proud to celebrate our Employees of the Month, who have truly gone above and beyond in their roles. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment make a real difference every day, and this recognition is so well deserved. They are a genuine credit to the Assisted Lives family, and we’re incredibly grateful to have them on our team.

Get To Know The Staff

Ruksaar Comal

Meet Ruksaar, our amazing Care Coordinator here at Assisted Lives! She’s only been with us for a month, but she’s already bringing tons of warmth, energy, and good vibes to the team. Ruksaar started her journey working with children in a nursery, then moved on to pupil referrals and later became a complex care assistant — caring for others has always been her passion! When she’s not busy helping people, she loves going for long drives, spending time outdoors, and keeping things clean and tidy. She’s big on self-care (nothing beats a fresh hair day!) and loves to unwind by binge-watching her favorite vampire dramas.

Naveed mohammed

Meet Naveed! He’s been part of the Assisted Lives family for 4 years, but his care journey stretches an incredible 27 years, supporting children, adults, and the elderly with genuine heart. Naveed has lived in Ashton-under-Lyne for 25 years, and at home he’s a proud husband of 16 years and a dad to four wonderful daughters. Outside of work, he has a unique hobby — collecting and recycling scrap metal — and he’s known for being incredibly generous and always ready to help anyone. His best friend is Graham, and no matter the challenges Graham faces, Naveed sees straight past them and loves him for the person he is, because that’s just the kind of man Naveed is. He’s deeply passionate about our service users and absolutely loves seeing their progress and growth.

Nigel chambwe

Meet Nigel, our Content Creator! He’s been with us for two months and has already made a big impact with his outgoing personality and great energy. Nigel loves interacting with people and brings a positive vibe wherever he goes. As a kid, he dreamed of becoming a WWE wrestler or a professional footballer — and he nearly made that second dream a reality when he joined Burnley F.C. on a scholarship! In his spare time, you’ll usually find him at the gym or fully embracing his addiction to playing Football Manager.

Annual Staff Meal

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us over the two evenings. Your presence helped make both nights truly special. It was wonderful to see office and support staff come together, relax, and connect outside of the work environment. Moments like these strengthen our team and remind us of the amazing family we’re part of. Thank you again for making this year’s celebration such a success!

Christmas Presents

Our service users receiving there presents!!!!

Thank You

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our incredible support workers and office staff across every branch. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment are truly the backbone of Assisted Lives. It is because of your hard work, professionalism, and ongoing support that we continue to operate at such a high standard. Every day, you make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support, and we are deeply grateful for everything you do.
