Week of June 9-13, 2025
Principal Message
As we head into the second last full week of school, there is a lot of excitement and activity happening around the building! With summer just around the corner, our staff and students are making the most of every moment left in the school year.
Next week marks the beginning of Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) for our Grade 6 students. We know they’ve worked hard all year, and we’re confident they’ll approach the exams with focus and determination. Please ensure your child gets plenty of rest and arrives on time each day.
We’re also looking forward to some well-deserved fun! Our school-wide Fun Day- hosted by Sportball!- will take place next week—an opportunity for students to celebrate a successful year with games, activities, and lots of smiles.
Grade 6s will also be heading out on their field trip to Camp Yowochas—a chance to build lasting memories and enjoy some outdoor adventure as they wrap up their time in elementary school.
As a Catholic school community, we continue to give thanks for the blessings of this year. We remain rooted in faith, love, and learning as we finish the school year strong.
Mrs. Carr-Jeschke & Mrs. McNamee
Staffing Updates
Each school year brings with it new changes and opportunities for students and staff alike. This June, we will be saying good bye to some of our amazing staff members.
With gratitude and admiration, we bid farewell to Ms. Zahary. As an exceptional educator in both curriculum and music, she infused everything she did with passion, calmness, and an unwavering commitment to fostering a love of learning. Her deep care for her students was matched only by the meaningful connections she built with everyone around her. Ms. Zahary, your presence has had a profound impact on our school community, and you will be greatly missed. We wish you all the best as you embark on your new journey at the Centre For Diverse Learners (CFDL) and take on your new role as Teacher Therapist. Thank you for all that you’ve contributed—we know your future students are in great hands!
We also say good bye to Mr. Mykietyshyn (Mr. M.). Throughout his time with us, Mr. M. has been known for his unwavering commitment to student success. He holds high expectations for both his students and himself. His kind and compassionate nature has made a lasting impact on the school community, fostering strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families alike.Beyond the classroom, Mr. M.’s enthusiasm for hockey—especially his beloved Edmonton Oilers—has been a fun and memorable part of his identity within the school. We wish Mr. M. all the best in his new role as Grade 6 teacher/ Hockey Academy Coach at Mount Carmel!
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of Ms. Erin Cote, our dedicated Therapeutic Assistant for Speech and Language, who will be leaving us to pursue the next chapter in her professional journey. Ms. Erin has been a gentle, kind, and empathetic presence in our school, known for her soft-spoken yet firm approach when needed. Her ability to connect with students and make them feel supported and valued has made her a beloved figure among both students and staff. We are excited to share that Ms. Erin will be returning to school to graduate shortly as a teacher! While we will certainly miss her, we are proud of her decision to further her education and take the next step in her career. Her future students will be lucky to benefit from her caring heart, strong work ethic, and expertise.
We are also saying a huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Rouchelle Newell, who has been with us for the last 3 months teaching music. We appreciate your time and dedication to our school and your willingness to always help out. Mrs. Newell will be teaching full time at St. Vincent next year and we wish her much success; St. Vincent is lucky to have you!
We would like to acknowledge Ms. Grazielle Baun, one of our educational assistants, who will be leaving our school community. Ms. Grazielle joined us mid-way through this school year and immediately provided excellent support for our students. She is able to recognize the unique gifts and talents of each students and has been instrumental in the positive growth of many. We wish her well!
We will be welcoming some new faces to our St. Paul community in the fall, and look forward to sharing those in the very near future!

Student Pick Ups/Drop Offs
When dropping off/picking up students, please use the designated drop off zones. These are 96 Ave (in front of the school) and 145 Street (the west side of the school).
Please DO NOT use the staff parking lot for student drop offs or pick ups. There are a lot of blind spots and staff vehicles, along with Division vehicles, coming in and out of the lot. This creates a very unsafe environment for students to be walking through.
Please choose safety over convenience and use marked cross walks and drop off zones to ensure students arrive safely to and from school.
Thank you for your cooperation!
