New - Construction Update: Construction of the new multipurpose building is progressing rapidly, a highlight being last week’s installation of the basketball goals. To honor this moment, Dr. Howell took to the court and made the very first shot on each goal! As we close in on the building’s completion, be on the lookout for more updates. New - Youth Invited to Apply for Summer Mission Trip Teams: We are excited about our summer mission trips and invite youth to apply to be a member of our mission teams. To apply, fill out this Google form by November 6 at 5 p.m. On November 9, we will announce the mission teams and send a registration link to members so they can make a deposit to secure their spot on the team. Thanksgiving Food Drive: Around 15% of Mecklenburg County residents live in a food desert, which is higher than the national average. The Food Insecurity team is asking for your help to collect the following items: large-size diapers; canned meat, vegetables, and fruit; cake mix and icing; peanut butter; and canned or boxed dry pasta. Drop off donations in the Parish Life Building lobby. Please help us reach our goal of 3,000 pounds of food by November 20.

Thanksgiving Table Tithe: The Schools & Children team is collecting $50 Harris Teeter gift cards for our neighbors at our partner schools and communities in Hidden Valley, The Learning Collaborative, and Sedgefield Middle School. Our goal is to collect 125 gift cards. Drop off donations in the Missions office.

New - Youth Christmas Tree Sale: Pre-order your North Carolina-grown Christmas tree, wreath, or garland from our youth and help support their summer mission trips to Austin, Texas, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Senior Pilgrimage. Trees will be delivered on November 30, and orders will be available for pickup through December 2. We were able to get a full order of trees this year, so please help us spread the word by sharing with friends. Click here to order.

Room in the Inn: Every Wednesday night and Thursday morning December-March, we provide 14 unhoused neighbors a meal, a safe place to gather and sleep, showers, and fellowship in the Myers Park Presbyterian Outreach Center. There are several ways to get involved: making beds, preparing dinner, hosting overnight, preparing breakfast, or driving our guests. The Merry Market provides an empowering opportunity for parents to select and buy gifts for their children at discounted prices. We will serve more than 300 children this year so we cannot do it without your generous donations. Shop from our wishlist to have gifts delivered to the Missions office by December 3.
