July, named after Julius Caesar, offers lazy summer days, hopefully, a little vacation time, and a more relaxed, laid-back feeling.
We hope you get to enjoy New Fairfield and its hiking trails, lake and ponds, wonderful library, restaurants, ice cream and its natural beauty this summer!

INFO FROM THE NEW FAIRFIELD HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES COMMITTEE
The Ad Hoc NF Housing Opportunities Committee (HOC) members made an information “Road Show” presentation to the NF Community Service Club this past spring. In a brief ten minutes, the audience saw and learned what housing opportunities that are affordable and lovely can look like. In addition, affordability was defined, survey results were shared, questions were answered and CSC members came away with helpful information regarding changes that we residents have experienced.
Going forward, the HOC would be honored to speak and share with your group. Please contact Anita Brown, Chair of the HOC at housing@newfairfieldct.gov. to arrange for a presentation.
Coming in July: Watch for the “Tin Man” to make an appearance with friends at the July 4th Parade!

Approved Vendors and Solicitors
All vendors and solicitors selling products or services in New Fairfield must obtain a license from the Town BEFORE conducting business or soliciting door-to-door (with certain exceptions, as noted in the New Fairfield Code of Ordinances, Chapter 8, Article II, Sec. 8-27.) The application process for a license includes fingerprinting and background check by the CT State Police. Vendors and Solicitors must carry their license with them while doing business in the Town.
If approached by a solicitor, please ask to see their license from the Town of New Fairfield. If they do not have a valid license, ask them to leave or call the Police Department at 203-312-5701. All Vendors and Solicitors will also be issued a badge from the Town of New Fairfield with their picture and year that their license is valid, which they should wear on a lanyard around their neck. The Dispatch Center is notified when a new vendor or solicitor is issued a permit.
The list of permitted solicitors and vendors can be found on the Town website, www.NewFairfield.org, under the Selectman's page or you can click below. If a new permit is issued to a solicitor, the page will be updated.

HONEYBEE INFORMATION OF INTEREST
You may notice that there are not as many honeybees around any more. Many of the hives are dying off mainly due to three combined things: pesticides, mites and viruses.
You can help if you use pesticides and what you use and how you use them.
Some helpful information shared from the Health Department:
The following three articles help to explain the issues that can effect the bees and what can be done to help:
