Jazz Honour Band
The third annual SBA Provincial Jazz Honour Band was hosted at Dr. Martin LeBoldus HighSchool in Regina this year. This weekend offered an opportunity for exceptional grade 9–12 Jazz students from anywhere in the province to enhance their skills, play with like-minded, passionate students and work with professional Jazz musicians.
SYB honour bands
The Saskatchewan Youth Bands program was a weekend intensive hosted in Regina and Prince Albert for nominated young musicians from all over the province. Students were placed in either a junior or intermediate honour band. Musicians attended full band rehearsals and received instrument specific instruction from professional clinicians.
adult invitational
We hosted our second Adult Musician Invitational event this year! We welcomed 22 adult musician participants representing communities across the province. The adult event included full band rehearsals, masterclasses and a much - valued social time on the Saturday night
Band in the park
SBA hosted twelve Band in the Park events throughout June, July and August. Our Band in the Park events are a free, drop in opportunity for musicians of all ages in various Saskatchewan communities to casually get together, share love of music and have some fun playing their instrument outdoors. These events were held in popular local parks or in conjunction with local events where community members are welcome and encouraged to sit and enjoy.

This year, the SBA hosted 4 band camps, including a specialized Jazz camp, and supported the brass band Prairie Music Residency. Participants experienced full band rehearsals, sectionals, small ensembles, options classes, and more! Overall, these camps and programs reached a total of 429 participants and entertained 1,625 at public concerts.
summer student ensemble
With a larger team, our summer staff were able to bring back the SBA Summer Student Outreach Ensemble, which shared band music with non-traditional audiences. The ensemble’s goal was to expand the awareness of band music, making it accessible and completely free of charge for special audiences around the province. The ensemble visited 22 locations and reached 670 community members.
Leadership day
This year, the SBA partnered with the University of Regina to pilot Saskatchewan's first Leadership Development Day. Students, teachers, and parents from across the province came together to develop their leadership skills and apply them to the band world. 2025's Leadership Development was a huge success, serving a total of 111 participants from around the province in improving their leadership skills.
Christmas tuba festival
SBA's Christmas Tuba Festival provides an opportunity for tuba, baritone and euphonium players from across Saskatchewan to gather in December to perform various well known Christmas carols for the community as well as family and friends.
