Dear Bluejay Family,

What an amazing day we had for the Color Run! Thanks to our incredible sponsors and the dedicated volunteers who made it all possible, it was a wildly successful event that brought so much joy to our students. Your generosity and time are truly appreciated.

As we wrap up the first quarter, it’s hard to believe how quickly the year is moving! We are looking forward to continuing this momentum into the second quarter and ensuring a successful journey for all of our Bluejays.

We also want to keep you informed about some exciting updates to our campus. Starting this week, repairs will begin on our chapel and library building. These improvements will safeguard and improve our spaces for worship and learning, and we are thrilled to see these projects come to life. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these areas may be temporarily unavailable during the process.

Lastly, excitement is building for the 100th Broussard Community Fair, which is just around the corner! We can’t wait to celebrate this milestone event with our school and community. Be sure to keep scrolling for more information on how you can get involved and make it another unforgettable experience.

Thank you for your continued support of St. Cecilia School!

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Dear Bluejay Family,

Dear Bluejay Family,

It was volleyball postseason tournament week for our Bluejays. Our Bluejays fought hard, and played their best volleyball of the year this week. We sadly bid farewell to our 8th grade girls as they exited the tournament in a very tough game. Thanks so much to Coach Kristen Landry and Coach Jamie Lee for their guidance and support all these years to the girls. There have been ups and downs over the years, but there is no doubt that there are some girls that will be playing high school volleyball next year! Our 5th Grade White Team is advancing to the championship game on Monday, October 14th at 5:30 at St. Genevieve Middle School. We wish them all the best as they are definitely playing at a high level. We are so proud of all of our girls that chose to represent SCS volleyball and their coaches for all of their hard work since the summer.

Our 5/6th and 7/8th grade football teams were in action this week as our younger boys took on St. Bernard and our older boys played St. Michael. Our 5/6th graders lost a close contest by the score of 7-0. The boys are drastically improved in all facets of football from last year. The 7/8th grade boys beat St. Michael to reserve a spot as the #1 seed in the Division II Football Championship Game with one game left to play against Vermilion Catholic. We are so proud of the coaches and boys for how they are winning as a team and representing SCS. We are anxiously awaiting the game on the 24th of October at Teurlings.

Monday, 10/7

  • 5/6th Grade Football vs. St. Bernard- L 7-0
  • 7/8th Grade Football vs. St. Michael- W 27-16

Wednesday, 10/9

  • Rebel Challenge #3 Results

It is time to sign up for the Broussard Community Fair 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run.

As a reminder as we play games next week, please refer to the Athletic Handbook. Admission is $6 for adults, and $1 for children. SCS students, staff and teachers are admitted free for home games in our gym. The schedules are in and available on our athletics page, where you can find all the information you need for Bluejay athletics.

Have a blessed day,
