Learn more about the Mkapa Awards

View the Virtual Tour below:

The Benjamin Mkapa African Wildlife Photography Awards traveling exhibition is open June 12 through Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre, 219 Main Street, Hurleyville, New York 12747, in the heart of the Catskill mountains, two hours north of New York City. The opening reception on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 included music, films, and a panel discussion on the importance of AWF's solutions to wildlife conservation.

The U.S. exhibition was previously shown in Palm Beach, Florida, in Los Angeles, California, and then at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming (see the virtual tour here and above).

The Mkapa Awards was a wonderful two-year global photographic competition run in alliance with the African Wildlife Foundation to help celebrate their 60 years of conservation leadership and to raise awareness and support for AWF programs protecting the unique wildlife and wild lands of Africa: "Bringing the World to Africa, and Africa to the World."

Photos of Africa should now be entered in the NBP Awards competitions. See the past Mkapa winners:
