Dear family,
We are thrilled to announce that the day we have long awaited has finally arrived - our spiritual family is moving to Fairland, at 124 Smit Street. The majority of our belongings have already been successfully relocated. Our team meetings are scheduled to commence this week, leading up to our inaugural service, the Pre-Launch Service, on the upcoming Sunday, the 7th of July. As we bid farewell to our Orban journey with expressions of gratitude, jubilation, and reflections on the altars we encountered along the way, we stand poised to embark on a new chapter in Fairland.
This is our moment, our season, and we are assured of the divine favor that abides with us. Let us unite in purpose to make a meaningful impact for the kingdom, extending a warm embrace to those whom God will guide to us, and dedicatedly serving both our Father and our new community as we pursue the noble goals of evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development. Together, let us endeavor to make every effort count. Warm regards, Ps. Sergé Solomons.

Looking Back...
On June 2nd, our church family gathered to celebrate a significant milestone in Shaun's faith journey: his water baptism. Before the baptism, we had the privilege of watching a heartfelt video of Shaun's testimony. In this video, Shaun shared his journey of faith, recounting the moments and experiences that led him to this important decision. Following the testimony, we gathered as a church to witness Shaun's baptism. As witnesses to this profound step in his relationship with Christ, we were reminded of our own baptisms and the ongoing journey of faith we all share. We rejoice with Shaun and his family, and we thank God for the work He is doing in their lives.
As we reflect on this beautiful celebration, may we be encouraged to continually pursue our own faith journeys with humility and joy, knowing that we are all part of God's family, united in Christ.
“And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.” - Malachi 4:6 ESV
Recognizing the importance of fatherhood and the bond between fathers and children is essential for healthy family dynamics and societal well-being. A strong and positive relationship between fathers and their children can provide emotional support, guidance, and stability that are crucial for a child's development. Research consistently shows that involved and supportive fathers positively impact their children's emotional and social development, academic performance, and overall well-being. Fatherless households often face challenges that can contribute to issues such as lower self-esteem, behavioral problems, and a higher likelihood of poverty.
Encouraging active fatherhood involvement, providing support for fathers to engage meaningfully with their children, and promoting positive fathering roles in society are crucial steps towards addressing the issue of fatherlessness. By fostering strong connections between fathers and their children, we can help create a nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and positive development of future generations. It is important for communities, religious organizations, policymakers, and individuals to recognize the significance of fatherhood, promote responsible parenting practices, and support initiatives that strengthen family relationships. By working together to prioritize and celebrate the role of fathers in the lives of their children, we can contribute to building healthier families and a brighter future for generations to come. - Ps. Sergé Solomons
On June 12th, our church family came together for a significant milestone—our first ever Prayer and Worship night at our new church home, located at 124 Smit Street, Fairland. This evening was not just about gathering in a new space; it was about laying the spiritual groundwork for our future in this community.
Our focus for the evening was on praying for our new church, the surrounding neighborhood of Fairland, including the schools, businesses, and families in the area, and for a smooth transition to our new home. We are deeply thankful for the prayers that have already been laid down and are committed to continuing to build on this strong foundation.
We look forward to seeing more of our church members join us for our next Prayer and Worship night on July 3rd from 19h00 to 20h30. Your presence and prayers are vital as we continue to seek God's will and blessings for our church and community.
On June 24th, the Vrededorp Youth and the African Havens team proudly launched a Holiday Youth Program dedicated to addressing substance abuse amongst other topics. This program is one of our most important initiatives, aiming to raise awareness and provide crucial education on this critical issue within our communities.
Substance abuse remains a significant challenge, and our program seeks to equip young people with the knowledge and support they need to make informed choices and lead healthy, fulfilling lives. Through engaging activities, workshops, and open discussions, we are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for these youth.
As Every Nation Randburg our partnership with Vrededorp is ongoing, through our monthly Soup Kitchens, where we serve meals and build relationships with the community mainly the youth. These efforts are a testament to our dedication to making a positive impact and supporting those in need.
We invite all our church members and Connect Groups to join us in this mission. Your presence and support can make a tremendous difference in the lives of these young people and in the broader community. Let us continue to show God's love through our actions and support this incredible community initiative. Together, we can make a lasting impact and bring hope to those who need it most. - Nino Neels
On June 30th, we gathered for our final service at Orban School, marking the end of a significant chapter in our church’s journey. The atmosphere was that of joy and anticipation as we celebrated the new season awaiting us in our new church home in Fairland.
We took a special moment to express our deepest gratitude to Dorothy, Brite, Lazarus, Louise, and Liz for their unwavering dedication and service every Sunday which made a tremendous impact on our church community. Additionally, some of our members, including Pastor Marné, Christina and Hennie Bekker, and Pastors Maryna and Marius Botha, shared their fondest memories from our time at Orban. Their stories were filled with warmth, gratitude, and a deep sense of community, reminding us of the wonderful experiences we have shared together.
The service concluded with a touching slideshow that captured the joys, fun, relationships, and growth we have experienced at Orban. As we move to our new church home in Fairland, we carry with us the rich memories and the spirit of fellowship that have defined our time at Orban. We are filled with excitement and anticipation for what the Lord has in store for us in this new season.
