Emerging Technology Partner Internship

As part of our commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements, we are offering an internship opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic UTSA students interested in Generative AI (generative artificial intelligence).

Location: UTSA – Hybrid work modality

Duration: 10 Weeks, Summer 2024 term (June 10 – August 16, 2024); part-time (10 hours/week)

Internship Description:

We are seeking 6-8 highly motivated and intellectually curious students to join our team as Emerging Technology Partners this summer. This internship offers the opportunity to learn about Generative AI, complete a microcredential or badge, and contribute to the development of student guidelines for Generative AI to be launched fall semester.

Responsibilities:

1. Learning and Skill Development:

  • Complete a microcredential or badge related to Generative AI and/or communication skills. Interns will have multiple Coursera and other options to choose from during their time.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to deepen understanding of Generative AI concepts and applications.

2. Research, Development and Documentation:

  • Research Generative AI technologies and effective practices for application in various fields.
  • Contribute to the development of student guidelines for the ethical and effective use of Generative AI.
  • Assist in the creation of educational materials related to Generative AI for students and faculty.

3. Collaboration:

  • Partner with team members to brainstorm ideas and identify effective practices to help students use Generative AI effectively and faculty incorporate Generative AI in the classroom.
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a UTSA undergraduate or graduate program and in Good Academic Standing.
  • Registered for courses in summer (minimum of 3 credits) and/or full time in fall semester (minimum of 12 credits for undergraduates, 9 credit hours for graduates).
  • Strong interest in Generative AI and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
