Nu Deco Ensemble Key Personnel

Jacomo Bairos, Conductor

Jacomo Bairos is annually in demand with top orchestras around the world including Singapore, Atlanta, Detroit, and St. Louis Symphony Orchestras. Bairos received his Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School, and is a graduate of the famed conducting programs of both the Peabody Institute and Aspen Music Festival.

Sam Hyken, Arranger & Musical Director

Sam Hyken's music has been commissioned by orchestras worldwide including the New World Symphony, National Symphony, and Boston Pops. As a musical arranger and director, Hyken has adapted and written music for artists, producers, and ensembles including Bad Bunny, Jon Batiste and Pitbull. Hyken holds degrees from The Juilliard School, the Royal Academy of Music, and the University of Miami.

Charlton “Chip” Williams, Director of Audio

Chip Williams graduated from Full Sail Orlando in 2007. Finding success as an Audio Engineer in Miami, Chip climbed the ranks at Univision, mixing broadcast news in Spanish while operating his own recording studio. Beginning contract Audio Engineering for Nu Deco in 2015, Chip became the Director Of Audio in 2023.

Jason Matthews, Keyboards

Jason Matthews is a Miami-based keyboardist, composer, and producer from Philadelphia. A graduate of UM’s Frost School of Music, he has toured internationally with artists including Danay Suarez, Matt Schofield, and Roosevelt Collier, and performed at events including Montreux and Montreal Jazz Festivals. Matthews was nominated for two Latin Grammy for producing Danay Suarez’s 2017 LP Palabras Manuales. He continues to record and tour with his original projects, Electric Kif and TWYN.

Armando Lopez, Drum Set

Armando Lopez started playing drums at age 10 by playing along to his favorite records and watching internet videos. Lopez graduated from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in 2014. Lopez went on to play drums for EMMY nominated television show La Voz Kids (The Voice) for several seasons, performing with artists such as Daddy Yankee and Natalia Jimenez. Lopez continues creating and performing original music and can be seen on tour with his original project Electric Kif.

Aaron Lebos, Electric Guitar

Aaron Lebos began piano at age 5 with the Suzuki method, switched to guitar at 11, and played blues and classic rock in his teens. He holds a Bachelor’s in Jazz Performance from UM and a Master’s in Jazz from FIU, becoming a full- time professional guitarist in 2001. He has performed with prominent South Florida artists like Spam-Allstars, Nicole Henry, and Tony Succar. A decade ago, he formed Aaron Lebos Reality, recording six albums. In 2021, he launched two new groups, Anemoia and Abstract Citizen. Aaron continues recording sessions, launching new projects, and performing with and arranging for Nu Deco Ensemble.
