Year 6 Leaver’s 2024

To the first year group to wear our little boat logo, I have watched you navigate your way through the new Darlinghurst, developing interest, talent, knowledge and skills. You have been everything that I have dreamed of and become successful in all things over 7 years, and some of you 9 years, and you have been the reason I do this job. I am going to miss the families whose generations have now gone through our doors and look forward to those who still have children with us, celebrating in the future.

Thank you to you all, and the staff, for being the Darlinghurst family.

Mrs Nicholls

Well done to our Y6 children – they have been an absolute pleasure to have at Darlinghurst. We are so privileged to watch them grow in confidence and belief. We wish them well as they move on to secondary school and welcome lots of visits over the forthcoming years.

You have all the tools you need to go forth and achieve your dreams.

Mrs Hahn

I would like to wish our lovely Year 6 children good luck as they move onto their secondary schools. It has been a privilege to share their final year in primary school and I have really enjoyed watching them grow and mature. There have been so many highlights, laughter and happy memories and I hope they look back on their time at Darlinghurst fondly. I look forward to hearing about their adventures as they begin their news chapters and I know they will continue to shine and be amazing. Take a little piece of Darlinghurst wherever you go and remember, always be yourself. You will be missed!

Mrs Stevens

Year 6 displayed their drama, creativity, musicality and many other talents for their Year 6 Leavers’ assembly, which they thoroughly enjoyed performing for Years 3 -5 ( as their dress rehearsal) and of course for their parents and family members on the last day. The school disco was a great success where children danced the night away with their friends. We wish them the best of luck and success in the next stage of their learning journey. Hope they all have a fabulous summer as they leave us well prepared for secondary school. We hope they enjoy the many memories they have made at Darlinghurst!

Mrs Dunne

Year 6,

Good luck in your new adventures beyond Darlinghurst! Some of you I can remember from when you started in our Nursery and then become my little Jellyfish! Each one of you has made a difference whilst you have been at the Academy. Your determination and resilience to succeed can be seen and the memories you have created whilst here will last a lifetime but it’s time to say goodbye but only for now as I wish you the best of luck in your future paths as I know you will go on to great things!! See you soon. Miss Wise

Good luck to all our year 6 leavers. I am sure you have many memories of Darlinghurst over the years and will cherish these memories as you progress onto the next stage of your life. Change can be both exciting and challenging and I’m sure you will face it head on, using all the skills you have learnt with us. I wish you every success in your new schools and know you will thrive. Don’t forget to make sure they have an Eco Club and teach them a thing or two about how to be sustainable!

Head Prefect – Thomas

As a pupil at Darlinghurst for seven years, I can honestly say that every member of staff; whether it be the office and wellbeing team, lunchtime middays, LSAs or dedicated teachers go above and beyond. They help you navigate through situations with ease and have a worry-free day.

My learning truly has been enriched by the fantastic support from the academy’s staff and resources available and provided by Darlinghurst.

In addition to the schoolhouse – point teams Darlinghurst embraces our distinct values with pride that follow into our postcards which serve the scaffolding for success.

A is for Achievement – reaching new heights of endeavours.

B is for Belonging – helping a pupil feel part of the Darlinghurst family

C is for Confidence – boldly accomplish and carry out a task while expressing thoughts out loud

D is for Determination – determined to achieve

E is for Excellence – all our values seamlessly intwined into one.

Working as a team lets us drive for EXCELLENCE in everything we do!

In Darlinghurst anything is possible. Every opportunity is out there, the teachers give your child a helping hand to grasp them and help them to flourish into who and what they want to be.

Together, we will achieve!
