PATRICK MAHOMES II PROPOSAL | the completion of jones at&t stadium

Creating a Bold Future for Texas Tech Athletics

Through the generosity of our donors, The Campaign for Fearless Champions has seen tremendous success. With the vision of Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt and empowered by donors, the campaign has become the largest and most expansive investment in student-athletes and facilities in Texas Tech Athletics history.

To further position our football program for success and capitalize on the campaign’s impact on Red Raider football, we respectfully request a significant investment of $15 million to finish constructing the new South End Zone and Womble Football Center.

When our Red Raiders and fans nationwide think of Texas Tech Football—and even Texas Tech University—they think of you. Your performance on the field and your reputation and generosity when not in uniform has set one of the highest standards for professional athletes and given our student-athletes a role model.

Your philanthropic investment will not only elevate Texas Tech Football and enable us to plan boldly for the future. You will also empower our student-athletes for success on and off the football field and grow the reputation of this program and Texas Tech University.

Setting the Stage for Future Success

The Campaign for Fearless Champions has fueled the growth and success of student-athletes in all 17 athletics programs at Texas Tech, making a positive and definitive impact in the lives of our student-athletes.

Significant investment has transformed the caliber of our training and competition spaces throughout the campaign, with high-profile projects that include:

  • Sports Performance Center
  • Dustin R. Womble Basketball Center
  • Cash Family Nutrition Center
  • Ed Whitacre Center for Athletics Administration
  • Dustin R. Womble Football Center
  • Cody Campbell Field

The next—and final—projects are reenvisioning the south end zone of Jones AT&T Stadium and the headquarters of Texas Tech Football, evolving its current facility into the best-in-class practice and training center that ensures our student-athletes are prepared to compete at the highest level.

Through philanthropic investment, Texas Tech Football can rise to meet the modern needs of a Division I college football program and its student-athletes.

For the Future of Texas Tech Football

Revitalizing Red Raider Football Headquarters

The new Womble Football Center project reimagines a critical training and practice facility for the next generation of Texas Tech Football, providing a definitive opportunity to:

  • Modernize and transform interiors that reflect the grit, determination, and drive of Texas Tech Football
  • Enhance player spaces to incorporate newly created and more functional amenities
  • Invest in one of our most important recruiting assets
  • Revitalize training and sports medicine spaces
  • Invest in competitive advantages in nutrition and strength and conditioning spaces
  • Improve the building’s configuration to better serve existing and future needs
  • Continue fan enhancements around Jones AT&T Stadium by extending the game day promenade

Rethinking the Gameday Experience

The south end-zone project allows for not just optimizing the stadium but also a pivotal space for Texas Tech Athletics. Features of this new space include the following:

  • Additional premium seating will be added for fans at various price points to provide different game experiences, meeting the growing demand for exclusive game viewing.
  • Colonnades envelop the new entrances to the stadium, matching those found at the corners and around the north end of the stadium and creating additional concession areas.
  • New home and visitor locker rooms are found at field level while offices for coaches and staff will be built on the third floor with a sky bridge connecting it to the Womble Football Center.
  • The renovations complete the game-day promenade between Jones AT&T Stadium and the Sports Performance Center—one of the most heavily trafficked pedestrian corridors on football game days.

Setting the Stage for Future Success

Your Gift of $15 Million

The Double T is a symbol uniting alumni and fans. For so many, it represents what they feel and experience as Red Raiders: fearlessness, determination, optimism, pride, and success. Those same alumni and fans see you as the embodiment of those traits.

Your transformative gift of $15 million will be honored by naming the Patrick Mahomes II Double T Scoreboard.

Standing guard over the field, your name will be displayed directly under the new scoreboard as a tribute to your generosity to Texas Tech. Your name represents the legacy you have created as a world-class athlete, and its significance at Texas Tech is a testament to the success that Red Raider football cultivates.

We can think of no one more fitting to place on the new Double T Scoreboard than you. This landmark carries significant meaning and nostalgia to fans, and your name will stand tall over the stadium as a lasting tribute and reminder of how you embody the phrase Strive for Honor.

$10 Million

Your gift of $10 million will be recognized by naming the Patrick Mahomes II Champions Plaza, which encompasses the pedestrian mall between the South End Zone, Womble Football Center, and Sports Performance Center.

This pathway serves as a major pedestrian artery throughout the year. It has become a major connector for students on class days and is a critical area for fan mobility and engagement on football game days.

Framing the plaza, the sky bridge will become a visual focal point of the sightline from University Avenue looking west to Drive of Champions. It connects the player areas in the Womble Football Center to the coaches’ offices and team meeting rooms in the new south end zone.

$5 Million

In appreciation of your gift, the Walk-through Room and Quarterbacks Room in the new Womble Football Center would be named in your honor.

The Walk-through Room provides revolutionary technology to improve training. Its wall-length video screen will be a vital tool for players and coaches to provide immediate instruction for everyone to easily see then quickly practice. Video boards of this size and caliber have made a significant difference to Red Raider and Lady Raider Basketball at the Womble Basketball Center, and the Walk-through Room brings this advancement to football.

The Quarterbacks Room will provide an updated and enhanced space for quarterbacks to meet with their coaching staff. What better inspiration for our quarterbacks than to see the name of their hero and role model while entering the room where they will perfect their play.

For our Fearless Champions

Emboldening our success

Each day, our student-athletes practice, train, and compete to bring the kind of recognition to our university that makes all of us proud to be Red Raiders. You have been one of those student-athletes and understand their needs and ambitions more than most.

Texas Tech University Athletics is well-positioned to expand our national reputation, and your support will help our student-athletes realize that potential.

The construction of the south end zone and Womble Football Center will have a dramatic and sustained impact on Texas Tech Football, becoming a headquarters to be celebrated by student-athletes, alumni, and fans.

Expanding your legacy

We ask that you consider a gift of $15 million to The Campaign for Fearless Champions to construct these two projects. By giving generously, you send a strong message to current and future Red Raiders that Texas Tech University alumni and fans are committed to our success.

Your support of Texas Tech and its athletic teams has instilled pride in our student-athletes and brought a national spotlight to the university. As a legendary player at Texas Tech and in the NFL, our fans admire and respect you and actively root for your success.

We appreciate your consideration of this transformational gift to Texas Tech Football. Your commitment will make an immeasurable impact on the university’s most historic and visible sport.
