From the Hilltop

March 2026

There's Only One Kimball Union

For anyone who has stepped inside Alumni Gymnasium or Akerstrom Arena during a home game, you'll recall the electric sound and feel of the notorious KUA student section. No matter the day, no matter the team, KUA students support one another until the last tick of the clock. Congratulations to the Girls' Varsity Basketball Team for a strong performance in the NEPSAC Championship game and to Boys' Varsity Basketball and Boys' Varsity Hockey for their tournament appearances.

Welcome Admitted Students

Future Wildcats received the news they’d been hoping for on March 10 as Kimball Union Academy announced admission decisions for the 2026-2027 school year. The more than 200 admitted students represent 32 U.S. states and 22 countries. We'll welcome many of them to campus for Admitted Student Days in the coming weeks.

Project Week Brings Learning to Life

Prior to a well-deserved spring break, students participated in Project Week, a dedicated time for hands-on learning, real-life reflection, and fun.

The Varsity Baseball Team joined alumni and friends at jetBlue Park in Fort Myers, FL, as the Boston Red Sox took on the Atlanta Braves in the final weekend of Spring Training.

Coach on Demand

What if you wanted to play tennis but needed a coach? That was the conundrum facing Marco ’26 as a middle-school student in lockdown during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a question that stuck with him well into high school and one he sought to answer through AI visualization.

Scenes From: Urinetown

This year's winter musical, Urinetown, was a fast-paced comedic romp that satirized everything from politics to musical theater itself. Witty dialogue, catchy tunes, rocking dance numbers, and a healthy dose of potty humor dazzled audiences for three nights.

Awards Recognize Student Creativity

March has proven to be a rewarding month for Kimball Union’s arts program as more than a dozen students earned local, state, or national recognition for their work.
