The Week Ahead
Turkey Trot Fundraiser
The MSE Turkey Trot is this Tuesday, November 25. All students will participate with their grade level and will walk or run during the times listed below. Students will be outside during this time so they will need to dress appropriately. If there is rain, we will have an alternate activity/location for the students at that time. If the rain holds off, students should dress for being outside with a jacket!
If your child has not registered for donations, please do so at the link below. Register and share your page and continue to ask friends and family for help, even a $5 donation helps provide activities to kids this school year!

Volunteers Needed!
The PCC is in need of volunteers to help out on the day of the Turkey Trot, Tuesday November 25, during the event or at the school assembly after. If you can volunteer your time, sign up below!
Thanksgiving Break
At MSE, we consider every large break a "Wellness Break" where we want everyone--teachers, students, etc---to completely shut down and enjoy the time off. Teachers will not be assigning work over the break, there will be no new projects, new quizzes, no tests to study for on the day we return. The idea is to work hard and then earn the break time to fully enjoy it off and spend time with family and friends and recharge. I know that our teachers need this! As parents, please remind your kids to be fully caught up on their work prior to the break. If they are a student who has missing work, they should be using the time off to catch up -- they haven't fully earned the time off! Parents, please do not email teachers during the Thanksgiving Break to grade late or missing work, they are taking the time to recharge and be the best educators they can be during the school day, your child can catch up on assignments and turn them in on December 1.
Eagle of the Week
This week's "Eagle of the Week" is 8th Grader Ilene B. who was nominated by Mrs. Meyer who wrote "It is my true privilege to have been Ilene's teacher for her fifth, seventh, and eighth grade year. She is a gift to everyone at MSE. She has always been a creative spirit and makes the most beautiful art. She is a strong reader and writer and she treats everyone she encounters with the utmost dignity and respect. Everyone. Staff, students, people she's never met....Ilene Baumgartner is a dazzling human being." Congrats Ilene!!
Positive Referrals This Week
The following students were recognized with a "positive referral" to the office this week for exhibiting one of our MSE Character Traits or other positive behaviors! Thanks for being great! All of these students, and any for the rest of November, will be entered into our Monthly Raffle that is held during the Grade Level Meetings each month.
Monthly Positive Behavior Raffle
We held our monthly "Positive Behavior Raffle" at Grade Level Meetings this past Wednesday. Students who were referred to the office for positive behavior were entered into a random wheel and selected to come up and pick prizes. Thank you to all the students for setting a positive example for others and to the PCC for supporting the prizes along with parents who donated! If you as a parent would like to donate to the raffle you can do so with the amazon list below or support the PCC! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/JH35Q7JGAINL?ref_=wl_share

MSE/LCPS Communication
We utilize the district's School Messenger platform to send out updates to parents, students, and staff. If you are not receiving School Messenger emails, please contact the main office and we can get you set up. There are times we also send out reminder text messages about upcoming events, or important information, if you have opted out in the past, please use the steps below to opt in for text messages as this is the easiest way to get a quick communication from MSE. This would also enroll you into district text messages for things like Snow Days or Emergency Communications from LCPS
