Welcome everyone to this weeks newsletter.
What a fantastic week with our keen learners. Pupils have demonstrated their independence toward learning and supporting each other. Classes have begun to explore their big questions for the half term and we look forward to sharing this with you through our communication platforms.
Soon, reading books will be sent home from class along with online logins for our other learning platforms to support literacy and numeracy. Keep your eyes peeled! We encourage you to share a story, book or magazine with your child at home as this will further support their development in school. If you've any questions about supporting learning at home please speak to your child's teacher.
As the weather turns could I please remind you to send your child with a rain coat or jacket.
We hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Mr Martin
We’ve had a wonderful first full week in Dosbarth Alwen!🥳 Our nursery children have settled beautifully into their new classroom and have amazed us with how quickly they’ve adapted to the changes. This week we have enjoyed painting self-portraits, having a go at writing their names, creating faces in playdough, and building their fine motor skills through a variety of activities. In maths, our reception children have been busy counting objects up to 10 and beyond, focusing on one-to-one correspondence. A real highlight for everyone has been our circle time sessions with Lola the Listening Lion, helping us develop listening and understanding skills in a fun and engaging way🦁
We have had a very busy week of learning in Dosbarth Tegid. We have been reading the story 'Find your Happy' and discussed in groups what makes us feel happy we came up with some lovely answers! We created self-portraits using mirrors to help us recognise our features on our face - the finishing pieces all look amazing! We have also been practising our Maths skills by using numicon to create numbers and add them together. There has also been lots of counting going on outside with apples the children have done so well putting them into bags ready to sell! Da iawn pawb.
Dosbarth Brenig have been busy on Udeskole day, outdoor school day as we explored the forest, farm and play skills together. We built hammocks, dens and used our new shelter. On the farm we harvested more apples, tomatoes and fed our animals.
In class this week we have continued our place value skills, created a presentation about us using Google.
Next week we will be exploring a new book, environmental topics close to school and a new learning zone is opening in our class HWB...
Dosbarth Gwynant have had a great first full week back for this year! We have already settled back in to being the oldest in the school and trying to show our younger friends how we can be responsible and set an example.
In class we have been enjoying thinking critically about our new topic focused on community action to combat climate change! We had had some wonderfully thought-out discussions through looking at data and statistics. I have been blown away by the critical thinking skills the children have shown this week!
