St Mary's Estyn Inspection Report

Letter to parents- 8/12/25 Dear Parents and Carers, As you know, Estyn inspectors visited our school from 6–8th October 2025 to carry out a full inspection. I am delighted to share that we have received extremely positive reports, which I am pleased to share with you all. I hope you enjoy reading the reports in detail but the final comment is especially lovely and worth highlighting. "Overall, the school provides a vibrant, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. High-quality teaching, a rich curriculum, and compassionate leadership enables the school to support nearly all pupils to make very strong progress, and develop the confidence, curiosity, and respect that prepares them well for the future." Please click the links below to access the reports:

On behalf of the governing body, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all members of staff for their commitment and dedication to providing the very best opportunities, care and support for our children and families at St Mary’s. We are truly blessed to work in such a wonderful school with amazing, supportive parents, carers, and a very proactive governing body. If you have any feedback on our report, please complete the Google Form here. We always value your thoughts. With warm regards and sincere thanks for your continued support Mrs R F Acton Headteacher

Christmas Concerts 2025

Key Stage 2 Concerts

Another wonderful week of Christmas concerts! Well done everyone. As I said during the concerts, it is so wonderful to see how the children mature, develop and grow in confidence each year; it really is a joy to watch them shine on the stage. A big DIOLCH to all the staff who helped prepare the children and to all families for your support with costumes and props etc. Da iawn pawb. Huge thanks also to Erddig Rotary club and especially to Mr John Isherwood for inviting us to perform our Year 5 and 6 concert at Ty Pawb theatre again and for sharing the profits with us. It is so very kind of them, and is a privilege for our children to share their talents within our local community. Well done everyone.

Coverdale Puppets

To end a very busy and fun-filled week, Coverdale Puppets came to perform their usual annual puppet show sharing the joy of Jesus' birth at Christmas with us. As always, everyone had lots of fun! Da iawn pawb.

Christmas Dinner Day

Huge DIOLCH to Mrs Price and staff for preparing such a delicious meal for us all yesterday! What a super day we had!
