Continuing a Legacy of Respect at Valley View Cemetery
Students in Mr. Wentworth’s 6th grade Social Studies class continued a meaningful tradition this spring by partnering with the American Legion to place American flags at the gravesites of veterans at Valley View Cemetery.
Despite rainy weather, students took part in this act of remembrance with dedication and respect, a tradition Mr. Wentworth’s class has proudly upheld for several years. Their efforts help honor the lives and service of local veterans and remind us all of the importance of community and gratitude.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to Buell Fuels for generously providing hot chocolate to the students, a welcome comfort on a chilly day.
We also extend our appreciation to OV graduate Danny Roodenburg and Wall of Fame member Bill Wentworth, who continue the tradition of placing flags throughout the community each year. Their ongoing commitment to honoring local veterans is a powerful example of service in action.
