OV Students and Colgate Mentors Celebrate a Successful Year

Tutoring and Mentorship Program Creates Lasting Connections

Students participating in the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) recently gathered with their Colgate University mentors for an end-of-year celebration at Gilligan's in Sherburne. Throughout the school year, Colgate students worked alongside Otselic Valley students, providing academic support, encouragement, and mentorship. The program created opportunities for students to build relationships, strengthen their skills, and connect with positive role models while working toward their educational goals. The celebration offered a chance for students and mentors to reflect on the year, recognize their accomplishments, and enjoy time together outside of the classroom. The event highlighted the meaningful connections that developed through the program and the positive impact those relationships had on everyone involved. The Liberty Partnerships Program is designed to support students through mentoring, academic assistance, and college and career awareness opportunities. As the first year of the partnership comes to a close, students, mentors, and staff have much to celebrate.

Thank you to the Colgate University mentors for sharing their time, encouragement, and support throughout the year. Appreciation is also extended to OV staff and a special thank you to Miss Linda for her dedication and leadership in helping make the program such a success.

Otselic Valley looks forward to continuing these valuable partnerships and welcoming mentors back in the fall.
