Welcome to "Linguistics in the Era of AI," a pioneering course designed to bridge the gap between the evolving fields of linguistics and artificial intelligence. This course offers a unique opportunity to delve into the dynamic intersection of language, technology, and programming, providing students with an understanding of how linguistic studies can be conducted and transformed through programming and AI.
This class will introduce you to programming in Python, one of the most widely used programming languages because of its simplicity to learn. Don't think that just because it is simple to write, it isn't powerful. Python is a language so powerful and useful that helps keep your YouTube and Instagram accounts running.
In this course, you will also earn a microcredential in Applied Artificial Intelligence from IBM that you can display on your LinkedIn profile to show evidence of your skills to employers.
Specifically designed for linguists, this book provides an introduction to programming using Python for those with little to no experience of coding.
