About Mark Homer Mark Homer graduated with a BA Honours from the School of Three Dimensional Design, Kingston Polytechnic - now Kingston University, in 1979. He commenced his career in architecture and interior design with an Essex based RIBA chartered architects practice. In the early 1980s, his career shifted to London, where he held project and team leader roles at several high-profile design agencies, including Allied International Designers, Design House, and Sampson Tyrrell. His expertise specialised in retail design for UK and international brands. In 1991, Mark Homer Design was established, and its creations have been implemented in all principal British airports and leading department store groups such as Harrods, House of Fraser, Selfridges, Fenwicks, and Debenhams. Additionally, Mark has designed retail environments for numerous automotive brands, including Harley-Davidson and Suzuki, in the UK, the Middle East, Switzerland, and Scandinavia. During the 1990s, his work in Kyiv, Ukraine, involved creating a ‘brand embassy’ for the international drinks conglomerate Seagram and transforming the city’s Boryspil Airport from a domestic hub into an international terminal, laying the groundwork for its further development. Other international projects have taken him to Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong. In recent years, and for over a decade, Mark collaborated with David Pocknell’s Studio in Essex, overseeing innumerable notable architectural projects, many of which hold historical significance. A few of the projects showcased here are from that period. The Studio closed its doors in 2024, but Mark continues to work with former clients on residential and commercial developments.
