Ysgol Tir Morfa - Newsletter Friday 7th March 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a very busy and eventful week at Ysgol Tir Morfa ending with our Eisteddfod today where all the classes shared their activities and experiences from our Wythnos Dewi Sant. We celebrated World Book Day yesterday too. You will see lots of photos in this week’s newsletter!

We are going to be setting up a ‘Friends of Ysgol Tir Morfa’ and really need your help with ideas for fundraising events. We are going to hold a coffee morning in school at Brews on Tuesday 25th March at 9.30am to get the ball rolling. Please join us if you can!

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,

Susan H. Roberts

Headteacher

Our Week at Tir Morfa
Welsh Week in Dosbarth Seren!
Famau did some shopping for ingredients for bara brith-taking the time to spot Welsh words in a local supermarket.
Aled have thoroughly enjoyed Welsh week this week. They have been busy both in school cooking, crafting and dancing and out in the community appreciating living in lively Wales ❤️
Dosbarth Brenig had an amazing, sunny "World book day". The children read lots of books, and listened to stories about their characters. They even found music to dance and sing to about their characters. Bendigedig!
Dosbarth Haul have had a very busy week exploring in our Welsh week. We have been mark making with leeks, we’ve been on a daffodil hunt, enjoyed a Welsh story massage and explored Welsh activities in our areas of learning. Well done Dosbarth Haul! ☀️
Dosbarth Findeg Yr Wythnos Dewi Sant highlights
Aled enjoyed sharing their favourite books as part of World Book Day. 📕 👍🏻
This year's Bard in the Eisteddfod Competition goes to a member of Tryfan who independently wrote an ode to a daffodil in the traditional Welsh style of a Cywydd. He used rhyming couplets, alliteration and 7 syllables for each line. Bendigedig!
Alwen enjoyed sensory stories on World Book Day. They experienced We're going on a bear hunt and The tiger who came to tea. They played with various materials found in the stories.
Pupils in Siabod have baked Bara Brith and build a Welsh castle during Welsh week!
Our 14-19 Sensory Hwb was a full of Welsh activity this week, with music, smells and objects being explored!
Wythnos Dewi Sant 2025 - Dosbarth Enfys have been mark-making with leeks and daffodils!
