K2: Learning about 3d shapes - In mathematics, K2 has been learning about 3D shapes. In this lesson, the students were using 3D objects to create patterns in clay.
Y2: Learning about community - Year 2 students have been discussing the spaces and services of local and global communities and the different ways people use them. Year 2 is now taking action by creating a model of their ideal community. They are doing this with all the services and spaces they think are necessary in society using recycled materials that they have been collecting from home.
Y4: Human body systems - As an introduction to their new unit about Human body systems, Year 4 traced their body outlines with chalk and drew and labelled all body parts and organs they knew. We enjoyed our drawings until the rain washed them away ;)
Y6: Learning about the PYPx - The Year 6 Exhibition began with a combination of guest speakers, skills-based workshops and guided inquiry-based assignments. Learners have chosen specific areas of research, have been grouped accordingly and are refining their own central ideas and lines of inquiry with their group members and exhibition mentors. We look forward to celebrating the exhibition event with the school community on Friday 3rd May.
MY: Y11 personal project success - Congratulations to Year 11 for successfully completing the first ever MYP Personal Project at UDIS, an important requirement of the IB and the UDIS diploma. In consultation with their supervisors, the students worked hard to plan, write reports, and create final products on a variety of topics which included: a guide book for Udon Thani, how to crochet, a dress made from recyclable materials, understanding skin care products, how to make paints from plants, and lifestyle videos and website algorithms.

Learning about Mr Gabriel

I love living in Thailand! The weather is quite similar to that of Brazil, which makes it easier for me to adapt. I have a passion for playing football and exploring the world, and my wife and I have had the opportunity to visit around 25 countries so far. In my free time, I also enjoy playing video games and watching Netflix at home.

English at UDIS: Learning new sounds - We have been carrying on with learning new sounds and sight words. We had lots of reading and writing practice and we were able to use the sight words we know to write our own sentences. We have begun learning about community helpers, reading books about them and why they are important. Then we had a brainstorming session about community helpers in our school. It was really fun and we were able to get new ideas from each other.
School Board update - On 22 February we held our third Board meeting of the year confirming the annual financial reports and authorising the budget and school fees for the new school year. The school is being served well by our School Board and the three parent representatives who are part of the membership. Our final Board meeting will be in May when we look to confirm our planning for next year!
