Camp's Boat Launch Ready
The N.D. National Guard's Camp Grafton Training Center (CGTC) near Devils Lake, recently completed a boat launch near the construction equipment-training area. (National Guard story and photos by Maj. Luke D. Malheim, CGTC)
The boat launch, built by a civilian contractor, will support the launch of U.S. Army bridge boats into the waters of Devils Lake. It will also support Bridge Crewmember (12C) training conducted by the 164th Regional Training Institute and also be available for privately owned watercraft in support of CGTC's MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) activities, when not in use for training.

A temporary water break holding water back during construction, can be seen in the water about 50 feet from existing shoreline.

Customers using CGTC facilities have long suggested that camp provide a way for visitors to take advantage of the Devils Lake waters that borders the camp, when they are off duty. This lake is one of the best fisheries in the upper mid-west.
As a response to these suggestions, CGTC built a fishing pier and a RV Park this year as the N.D. National Guard continues to grow the MWR capabilities of this great training facility. The RV park was featured in the July 1, 2021 issue of the TAG Line.
