Another week has flown by, and Christmas is just around the corner! The children are now busy preparing for their Christmas presentations, and excitement is starting to build throughout school. We’re thrilled to announce that our first big festive event—the Christmas Fair—will take place next Friday. We hope to see you there! Goodbye and Thank You Mrs Mills
We would like to thank Mrs Mills for all her hard work, support, and dedication to our school community. Her contribution has been greatly valued, and she will be missed by staff and pupils alike. We wish Mrs Mills the very best for the future and every success in the next chapter of her journey.

Parent Forum
Our next Parent Forum will take place on Tuesday 9th December at 3:15pm. This is an informal opportunity to meet with the Headteacher and Governors, discuss any issues, and find out what’s happening at Minera School. Everyone is welcome – we look forward to seeing you there!
Communications
Thank you for your feedback during the recent Open Evening survey. We value your comments and have taken them on board. Some parents shared that communication can feel inconsistent, with incorrect dates in newsletters and multiple channels being used in an ad hoc way, which means families often check several apps to avoid missing information. Additionally, you asked for clarity when staff are absent—not the reason, but simply to know when there is a change to the usual routine. With this in mind, here is how we communicate with you: Seesaw – Messages to and from class teachers Email – Messages from the school office and headteacher Facebook – Event reminders and sharing celebrations. My Child at School App – This app will no longer be used for messages. Instead, it will be used for booking parents’ evenings, after-school clubs (in future), consents, and managing personal information. New School Website: www.mineraprimary.wales – Your one-stop shop for key information, including access to the live school calendar, holiday request forms, and important school documents and policies. We hope this makes communication clearer and easier for everyone. Thank you for working with us to improve how we keep you informed.

- Leave at approx. 6:15pm, return around 10:00pm.

Christmas Presentation Dress Rehearsals
- All children will go to St Mary’s Church to watch and take part in rehearsals.
Wednesday 17th December
Dosbarth Explorers (Year 2 and 3) Christmas Presentation
- 2:00pm at St Mary’s Church.
- You may take children home afterwards if you wish.
Dosbarth Navigators (Year 4, 5 and 6) Christmas Presentation
- 6:00pm at St Mary's Church
Thursday 18th December
Dosbarth Pioneers Christmas Presentation
- School Hall, starting at 9:15am. Refreshments available afterwards.
After School Club Party Night
- Disco, bingo, and lots of festive fun!
- After school until 5:30pm.
Friday 19th December
Toy Day
- Children can bring a toy to school and wear non-uniform
Last Day
- 3:15pm - School closes for Christmas Holidays
Friends of Minera News
Thank you all for your donations for the Christmas fair and raffle. We have 14 great prizes for our raffle and a lovely selection of items for the tombola stall. All we need now are donations for our cake stall (Friday please) and for you all to come along on Friday at 2.30pm. If you haven't yet returned your raffle tickets and money please send in by Friday. The draw will take place at the fair. Finally, we are holding our used Christmas jumper sale after school on Tuesday 2nd December. Help yourself for a small donation. We still need jumpers so please send in any you no longer need. The Friends of Minera
