I am Lilli Ward, from Clemson, South Carolina. I'm in my second year at Auburn University.

How did you hear about Beyond? Last year I was in a Young Life small group and my leader, Lindsay-Rose, was planning to go to Beyond as a Sea-kayaking guide the following summer. I had my heart set on working in Glacier National Park with my brother but was not able to get a job due to my school schedule. Lindsay-Rose convinced me to apply to work at base camp! I loved my time at base camp so dearly but each time guides came and went out on trail I felt the strongest pull to the mountains!
What are you looking forward to this summer? I'm looking forward to another summer away from the chaos of the world, amidst the splendor of God's creation. Beyond provides such a unique experience in the way it allows you to be fully present in service. There's much less to think about when you're that disconnected from the world. I’m continually inspired by the people Beyond draws in. It's such a gift to connect with and learn from people from all different places and backgrounds, all brought together by our shared love for the Creator. And of course I'm eager to spend more time in the mountains!
How are you hoping to grow this summer? This summer, I’m hoping to grow in my ability to share the Gospel and to be stretched past my regular capacity. Last summer, I had the privilege of watching guides continually put others before themselves, modeling such beautiful humility and service. I’m looking forward to learning more about what it means to truly die to myself and live for Christ.
What expenses are you fundraising to cover? I am fundraising to cover travel expenses and gear.
Prayer Requests
Any and all prayers are the biggest gift I could receive as I prepare for this summer! Please be praying that each camper and guest who steps onto the dock would feel God's presence and peace during their stay at Beyond. Another huge prayer request is for protection over uncertainty and doubt as the summer approaches along with spiritual and physical growth over the next few months!
