Celebrating 42 years of our Marriage in 2025
March 12th, 1983 began a journey of togetherness that we had no idea would have this much adventure, travel, fun and fear. We may not have chosen a conventional, secure path in life but the risk, the faith, the kids, thefood, the people we’ve shared our lives with, the opportunities to give and to love have been so much more than we could have ever dreamt or imagined. We serve a BIG God because, as many of you know, weare VERY different and it’s His love that has kept us loving each other and enjoying the ride. Here’s to Jesus and to many more years together!
More about the past events on our family matters.

July sees us heading to Australia where we will be giving Judi’s sister Bonnie and Paul a much needed rest ascarers. We’ll be mostly in the north coast area of Maclean with a few days either side in Sydney.
Justine and Skyler have been busy with building projects, parenting and worship team. Both have teaching gifts and roles - Justine in her classroom at Braeburn and Skyler in the Vineyard School of Ministry.
Zeph and Ruby continue to delight their grandparents no end. We LOVE having them so close!
Celeste and John are enjoying married life and work in Belfast. It was wonderful seeing them in person early this year. Her 40th birthday is on the 12th July .. very sad to not be there in person to celebrate. :(
Zac is now living in Iceland, working in a hotel and running a study group. We recently celebrated his birthday via Zoom.
We’re looking forward to catching up with lots of family and friends in Sydney and Maclean in July

Wedding in Belfast
David and I, Justine and Skyler, Zeph and Ruby, Zachary and his girlfriend Kristine, all got to celebrate Celeste and John‘s wedding in Belfast on July 16th. It was a beautiful and unique celebration that captured Celeste and John‘s creative, humorous, kind community selves.
We were all very anxious about the weather as the Belfast rains and winds had come, and forecasted for the morning of the outdoors wedding. After alerting the prayer warriors in Arusha,
we arrived at the venue. The weather cleared up and as we walked down the aisle, the clouds parted and the sun shone fiercely down. It was as if God‘s pleasure was shining over the event.

We got to celebrate Christmas in January, as a family, but who cares about the date.... we were TOGETHER!!
It was such a blast to be able to have time laughing, eating, crying, watching movies, sharing stories, ribbing each other mercilessly, then more eating and more laughing. What a blessing!!!
We also got to celebrate Ruby's first birthday very soon afterward. Her 'safari party' was a lovely, laid back affair with outdoor buffet and animal-themed food and games. The Guest of Honour came dressed as the one and only
Minnie Mouse, not a safari character, but hey, it was her day!!! :)

What a blessing to have one of our kids and both grandkids in the same part of the world! We were blessed to be able to lead the dedication of little Ruby last week, and to party with Zeph as he turned 3.
They've all returned to the States for Christmas and are scheduled to be back on the 1st of January, actually scheduled to catch the same plane as Auntie Celeste out of Doha to Arusha, a surprise to us all! Zac's is coming out too, scheduled to land a couple of hours later on the very same day.
So .. short of Omicron complications, the 1st of January 2022 promises to be one of the best ever starts to the year for the Owens clan!
Praying it all comes together!
