Every year staff members of the Episcopal High School yearbook The Hexagon put together a graphically appealing and award winning record of the detailed events of the school year in an all-color, highly entertaining volume. Graphic artists and photographers display their creativity while commemorating the experiences, accomplishments, and shared scholastic lives of the EHS student body and its extended community.

Episcopal High School Yearbook Earns Twelfth Consecutive Yearbook of Excellence Award

The 2023 edition of Episcopal High School’s The Hexagon was one of very few book nationally to earn a twelfth Yearbook of Excellence Award. A panel of industry experts judged pieces in three categories: inclusion, design, and accessibility.

Jostens, the leading provider of yearbooks, is honored to partner with schools like EHS in making customized, cutting-edge yearbook covers. Episcopal’s yearbook cover “Born to Be Blue” was the recipient of the 29th Annual FSEA Gold Leaf Award Competition for Unique Binding Design.

Entries were received from countries all over the world, including the US, Japan, Denmark, Canada, Taiwan, Poland, Australia, and South Africa.

EHS yearbook advisor David Framel gave all the credit to his staff of student graphic designers who “keep The Hexagon current and trendsetting.”

“This honor is special,” Framel added, “since it was our first dive into international competition. We knew we had a unique design, and I want to recognize Jostens, my students, and EHS photo teacher Japheth Storlie for making our vision a reality.”
