The Virginia Tech Wind Ensemble and Chamber Singers have been awarded the distinguished honor of an invitation to perform at the Virginia Music Educators Association Conference in Norfolk, Virginia, on November 21, 2025. The selection of both the Wind Ensemble and the Chamber Singers in the same year is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to the talent, dedication, and artistry of our students and faculty. Our ensembles are diligently preparing programs that will represent the excellence of Virginia Tech on this important statewide stage. This opportunity not only highlights the caliber of our student musicians but also positions Virginia Tech as a leader in music in the Commonwealth. We are eager to showcase the extraordinary work of our students, but we cannot do so without the generosity of our supporters. Philanthropic contributions will enable our students to travel and perform at this prestigious event. Your partnership will ensure that Virginia Tech’s musical excellence is shared with educators, students, and audiences across Virginia. The Chamber Singers and Wind Ensemble have performed at Carnegie Hall together (2017); the Chamber Singers has performed throughout Italy, Ireland, and Spain; and Wind Ensemble performed at the CBDNA Southern Division conference (the foremost professional organization for collegiate band directors) – a true honor. Our performance at VMEA is a significant opportunity to showcase the important work of Virginia Tech's music department – this top-tier university is an amazing place to earn music degrees that support successful careers, and we are excited to showcase this for Virginia's music educators! These ensembles include many music majors as well as many students in other majors who are passionate about music performance in their lives.
