This piece is a logo for the fictional 'Xtreme Latitude' snowboarding company. While creating this piece, I learned how to balance soft curves with more angular design aspects. My goal with this piece was to create a logo that effectively communicated the point of the company. I think I accomplished my goal with the logo fairly well; personally, I believe it communicates the 'Xtreme' part well and has a wintery feeling to it. When the audience sees this artwork, I hope they get the impression that it's a sporty company focused on some sort of snow-based sport.
This project is a snowboard inspired by my previous design for the 'Xtreme Latitude' logo. For this piece, I learned to utilize the mosaic feature for the board and create a cohesive color scheme. My goal with this piece was to create a board that fit the 'XL' logo stylistically. I'm fairly happy with how the board turned out, however I feel like I could have done more with it or perhaps incorporated the logo better. When the audience sees this artwork, I hope they appreciate the color scheme, and the various methods used to create a unique pattern.
This project is a depiction of a snowman following the aftermath of a murder. While creating this piece, I learned some clever lighting tricks utilizing embossing and glows. My goal with this piece was to create a slightly funny and inquisitive work. Personally, I’m mostly satisfied with the piece, though I could have incorporated lighting a bit better onto the snowmen themselves. When the audience sees this piece, I hope they ask questions; typically, you don’t think a snowman would have any reason to ‘kill’ another, so it defies expectations and makes one question why a snowman would do this.
This project is a work inspired by Messy Mod, depicting an Ace card. While creating this piece, I learned to utilize some previously established patterning skills. My goal with this piece was to create a piece that imitates the Messy Mod style effectively. I put this piece together fairly quickly, so I feel I could have done much more with it. When the audience sees this artwork, hopefully they appreciate the style it's imitating, however simple the piece itself it may be.
