Eckerd Tops Lynn in Series Opener
ST.PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team added five runs over the final three innings to take the series opener against Lynn, 6-1, at the Turley Athletic Complex on Friday night.
Eckerd scored early for a 1-0 lead in the second inning as Hannah Taylor delivered an RBI single. However, the Knights evened the score in the next frame with a double steal.
The Tritons rallied for three runs in the fourth inning, loading the bases with two outs. Molly Scott scored on a wild pitch, and Ashely Cain followed with a two-run single for a 4-1 tilt. EC added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth on an error and an RBI single from Abby Lucas.

Last season, Founds pitched in 18 games with 12 starts in the circle. She held a 3.66 ERA, plating 29 strikeouts on the season. Founds earned four wins. Working with Brandilyn Reymer, they pitched a no-hitter against Post, recording three strikeouts through three innings. Founds recorded two hits through nine at bats. For 2024, Founds was tabbed to the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
