Adrian Spear Shares Research on Eating Disorders in Teens
Otselic Valley senior Adrian Spear recently presented her senior research project during the DCMO BOCES New Visions Allied Health Poster Forum. Adrian's project, Understanding the Psychological and Physiological Effects of Eating Disorders on Teens, examined factors that can contribute to eating disorders among adolescents, including social media influences, diet culture, and body image concerns. Her research also explored the serious physical and mental health effects these disorders can have on young people. Over the course of approximately five months, Adrian conducted extensive research on the topic, gathering information and analyzing findings to better understand the challenges faced by teens affected by eating disorders. Adrian presented her work to peers, family members, counselors, teachers, and administrators during the forum, providing an opportunity to share her research and discuss an important health issue impacting today's youth.
Congratulations to Adrian on her dedication, hard work, and successful presentation. Her project reflects the commitment to learning, research, and professional growth encouraged through the New Visions Allied Health Program.
