Powering a bright new year!
As we welcome 2025, Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC) is thrilled to share our vision for the year ahead. At the heart of it all, our mission remains unchanged: delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, while also making our community stronger.
This year, we are making investments in grid resilience to ensure your power is available to you when you need it most. From upgrading equipment to maintaining our right-of-way, CGEMC is fortifying our infrastructure to handle severe weather and growing energy demands. These efforts mean fewer outages, faster restoration, and a stronger, more reliable system for every member.
At CGEMC, our commitment goes beyond keeping the lights on. Through programs like Operation Round Up, where members round their bills up to the nearest dollar each month to support local causes, the Walter Harrison Scholarship, Powering the Future Scholarships, and the Washington Youth Tour, we are investing in education and opportunity for the next generation of leaders. Together, these initiatives fuel positive change across our communities.
As a member-owned cooperative, your voice guides our path. This year, we are introducing even more ways for you to share your ideas and feedback—whether it is through online surveys or conversations on social media. Every idea you share helps us grow and innovate to better serve you.
Thank you for your trust and engagement. Let’s work together to make 2025 a remarkable year, powered by the cooperative spirit and the strength of our community. Here’s to a bright and sustainable future!

Capital Credits Checks, a Benefit of Your Cooperative Membership
The Central Georgia EMC Board of Directors announced a capital credits refund to members who received service during the year 2004. The refund checks were mailed to members on December 6, 2024.
The total amount of this refund was $1,500,188, which represents a portion of the margins for the year 2004. The margins are used as capital until they can be returned through a general refund without impairing the cooperative’s financial condition.
Capital credits are a benefit of your membership. We thank you for your patronage!
