“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”

― Edward Everett Hale

What this mean to me is never give up and go after what people told you can't go after. A lot of people are scared of what people are going to think of them. Keep going and do what you love even if people don't like it never stop.

Required Challenge and Optional Challenge 1

Both these Challenges are very important I feel like it was to teach us how to do art and how to design. And how to out line something and to show how to work Adobe Illustrator I feel like the first one was to teach us how to outline the squares. Which I tried to do and I didn't do the bad. The second one was a little harder because I was trying to do the lines and it was a little hard to understand but I end up getting it done. I feel these to challenges was to show everything works and to get us ready for other things.

MDM525 Week 2.

Media Design Research, Graphic Design Research

What are the principles associated with research in the context of design - Design reresearch includes collecting data, analyzing the data through critical thinking all of these will help you through design research. Case studies is one of the principles that are associated with design research “Use existing real-life media example to stay the handling of particular issues.” All this research will help build their design to meet the needs of there target audience and projects. Research is the foundation of all graduate studies it challenges and to see what you know.

In what ways are the principles associated with design research important in professional design? - Design research is important in professional design because it helps understand elements like proportion, color scale, texture, grid, line, volume, and space”. Demographic study is very important because it helps them on WHO a target audience is we need to know who audience are at all times. Another good one is psychographic study helps fine the desired audience, for media targeting.

Give at least one example of how research is applied in professional design. Experimental research plan - In contrast to exploratory research plans, the main purpose of an experimental research plan is to establish a relationship between the cause and effect of an occurrence. It uses the scientific method, which includes elements like:

• Hypothesis: A research hypothesis is a statement that describes what you predict your research to reveal.

• Independent variable: An independent variable is a variable that does not depend on other variables.

• Dependent variable: A dependent variable is a variable that depends on another variable.

• Control variable: A control variable is a variable that remains constant throughout a research experiment.

Research is critical in any area of design, from logos to posters. It is about collecting data through interviews with clients, user feedback, domain research and more. It guides the creation of the design by helping you understand what makes people tick.

The important of design research is to help ensurethat your methods match your research aims, that you collect. It also help designers to understand what they are doing and to guide them when they are working. It also gives us data to move our assumptions and biases aside and look at the evidence we have in front of us to tell us what people want or need.

Design Challenge 2

This Challenge was to help us understand pattern and to teach us to to work the apps. This was a little challenge for me and I feel like the more I do I should get better at it.

MDM525 Week 3

Defining Client Needs

The first thing designers need to do is set up a meeting with the clients. But before that found out about your clients it’s called Client Research Learn about them do a little background on them so you will be ready for the meeting. Make sure you go over everything ask questions and listen. (Blogger 2020) “give the client the impression that you are a professional designer whose time, resources, and talents must be valued and appreciated”. This will build a good relationship between the designer and the client. Clients will put their trust and you, but the next thing is gone over their competition and who they will be up against. (Chase 2008) Talks about a lot of things like “So it was important to us to be able to express to them the process that we go through before we ever get too creative, before we really are able to put anything on paper”. You always make sure you tell them about yourself and what do and what you can bring to the table.

Client Communication

Throughout the process, nothing is more important than communication. There are different ways to communicate with your clients like Email, Website, Phone Technology, Web Chat. Designers should always find out who they will report to and how they will do it. (FuseBase 2022) “It’s how a company builds trust, receives feedback, and improves the product or service they provide. It ensures customers are kept informed, which allows the company to understand their clients’ needs better so they can make more effective decisions”. If you don’t communicate that can cause a problem with the designer and clients. You will lose their trust and there is a possibility that they will go with another designer. This can be done on both sides the clients need to do the same. Case study talks about the importance of effective client communication and how to meet their challenges. They break everything down and the best thing is to always keep your clients happy.

Meeting Client Needs

You should always meet the client’s needs like communicating with them let them know what you have done so far and how long will everything take. Always ask questions and listen to them when they are talking and acknowledge them. Let them know that they have chosen the right team to do their project. You can develop strategies to meet there needs.

MDM525 Week 4.

MDM 530 WEEK 1

Branding for Attention - Brandling for attention is very important because that’s how we get are audience attention that’s how we speak to some of are audience. Sometimes you want to design something that relates to your audience. In the lecture and research materials provided years ago branding started with animals to signify ownership then later hot iron brands was used for permanent. (BrandOps, Jeff Schneider 2019) “Brands that win customer attention rise above the digital noise, grow more presence faster, are more easily remembered, and turn people into voluntary brand advocates. Attention is the starting point of marketing - if customers aren't even listening, nothing else brands do will make any difference”. I feel like this was a good point you want to win the customers attention because they can go to another brand if they feel like you’re boarding and there is nothing there then there going to see if another brand catches their attention. Sometimes it’s like let the best brand wins because there always going to be competition on who stands out the most and who can get the most customers. Another example is Apple iPhone, Jordans these are two biggest brands right now and everyone wants to get a new iPhone every year and a new pair of Jordans every 6 months. (SmartCapitalMind 2023, 2024) “Brand attention is the measure of how effectively a brand captures and retains consumer focus amidst a sea of competitors. It's the magnetic pull that draws eyes and minds to a company's message and values”.

Brand for human connection - Branding is more than logos like what the lecture said if there weren’t people branding wouldn’t exist but now branding has formed relationship in bond with humans. (Forbes 2024) We are living in an increasingly digital age and unplugging from tangible relationships in exchange for something pixelated. The craziest part is that humans are looking to brands to be that human connection. This was on point I feel like we turn to brands to feel that connection and the connection can be anything and the number one brand is apple. Apple been around for years since I was and high school. Apple started off with the phone that was all black and the iPod shuffle music player that came with different colors. But today and this world it’s all about the phones now the color the updates the size. Seeing everyone with the colorful iPhone 5c at the time that was the first phones that was colored it was like seeing each person be different and how everything came together.

Projection of Brand personality - Case Study gives us a good example Southwest Airlines they use more than a brand and logo it’s about the connection, relationships, positive reinforcement, and empathy. Southwest makes you feel welcome they welcome you with open arms and make you feel like you’re at home. Southwest make sure their identity is known when it’s time for refreshments on the plan you see there logo everywhere that’s so their customers can be more connected to them. (Shopify 2022, 2024) Brand personality is a cumulative set of brand character traits that evoke human character traits. Marketers often describe brands through the lens of human traits. Just as a human being can have a sophisticated personality, a business can have a sophisticated brand personality. Much in the way a human being can seem down to earth, so too can a brand. If we don’t have that connection with the brand, we don’t want nothing to do with it because we want to feel something.

1.6 Design Challenge: Brand Vision Boards

MDM530 Week 2

Determining Audience Needs - Audience needs is very important without them there will be no brands our nothing, so we must make sure we give them what they want. For example, the (Case Study) tell us about Pepperidge Farm how they watch customers shop around and see what they do with the cookies. They know we going to hide them when we get to the house because we don’t want to share them, but the design got are attention. (CompuKol Communications 1995-2024) “talks about Determining What Your Target Audience Wants and Needs – Meet them on their own territory, listen more then you speak, if you want to know something, ask, ask yourself you find what you are giving to others valuable to you and conclusion”. I feel like each one breaks it down and helps you understand your audience it’s guiding you to know how you should do your brand and logos. And the lecture she talks about Demographics. Demographics in clues gender, age, income, marriage status, job. The lecture helps us understand what audience needs just a little so when we are ready to start are own business our anything we will know what to do when it comes are audience.

Defining a Brand's Core - Defining a brand’s core is the biggest part of a brand I feel like it’s the most important it drives the brand forward. The lecture gave a good example of brand ideas and they’re the ones that we know, and you can tell by the colors and the logo that’s the brand core. Because the name represents the brand it tells you what it’s all about. She also talks about brand identity that plays a big part to with trying to create a brand our trying to get audience attention make the brand memorable, defines is personality, improves public perception. (Thirst Creative 2024) “A core brand idea is the simple concept that sits at the heart of your business. It is the sum of your philosophy, your essence and your values that inspires everything you do. It is the reason your brand exists, it’s what drives you to deliver value to your customers every day”.

Connecting to Audiences Meaningfully - How to connect with your audience well it’s not hard to do but you want to make sure you’re doing a good job. Reading the book, The Brand Gap it tells you a lot about how to connect with your audience it talks about how to start a brand and how it’s a gut feeling. (Anna Stout 2024) There’s extreme value in building emotion with your audience to drive engagement. When you’re constantly engaging with your customers at various touchpoints through different mediums, you have the opportunity to build trust and credibility. (2.5 Case Study: Ralph Lauren, 2023) Ralph Lauren talks about that he lets consumers to express their personal self – image and reflect a lifestyle they wished to be part of his is brand created for a consumer that values quality, exclusivity, style, fine living, and prestige.

2.6 Design Challenge: Brand Vision Books

This design was to show us how to put things together and how to work Adobe Indesign which I learn a lot but I do have some work to do. This design was to get us ready for the industry and teach us how to start are own brand. And I feel like it was teaching us how to connect with are audience.

MDM530 Week 3.

The Role of Strategy in Branding - Brand strategy is very important that’s what keep your business going and having a big brand with out strategy everything is going to go downhill. The lecture talks about strategy and explains why it’s a big part of branding it’s a plan of action. (EU Business School 1973 – 2024) In a broader sense, however, a brand is a company’s whole customer-facing identity. Running a branding strategy is about coordinating the different elements of that identity, including advertising (so that it’s “on brand”), product packaging, website look-and-feel, workplace culture, and more. And the research 3.3 Nix also talks about brand strategy and his video, and he talks about Kinecta Credit Union how the company needed his help and why they were not getting the business they used to have so they came up with different strategies on how to make the company better. And what they came up with is having them do everything there and Stead of going to another place to send money. So, they came up with debit cards and setting up where they can just have the money on there instead of sending it.

Collaboration in the Branding Process - Collaboration is when the group works together and give different ideals about the brand. That’s when everyone comes together and just be creative. (Digital Silk 2024) A brand collaboration is a strategic partnership between two or more brands to achieve mutual goals. Brand collaboration involves the merging of resources and expertise to create innovative products, services or marketing campaigns that leverage the strengths of each brand. The brand can’t run by itself when collaboration don’t happen. Just like when nix talks about Kinecta they all came up with different things to try to make a better for their people they even went out to the neighborhood to see what went wrong. (Hecto.io 2024) Brand collaboration can increase brand visibility, reach a wider audience, and create a unique offering that customers will find attractive.

Adjusting Strategy for Audiences - The case study talks a lot about adjusting strategy (Think with Google 2024) Audience strategies are designed to help marketers break up their customers into meaningful segments to improve the effectiveness of their messaging and investments. But during times of uncertainty and change we often see new customer behaviors and needs, forcing marketers to revisit their audience strategies to ensure these needs are being addressed. If you don’t strategies with your team about the brand you’re losing your audience and clients the number one thing is you want to keep them coming back and keep them people you want to have a connection with them.

This project was to tech us to to put a video together and how to use adobe premiere pro and to see how we are with it.

MDM530 Week 4.

I feel like it did matter on the second one I knew what to do and I didn't give up at all. I learned a lot from this class and the projects. And I can't wait to take what I learn from full sail into the industry and my brand that I will build one day.

MDM555 Week 1.

Benefits versus Features When we talk about Benefits versus Features sometimes customers get a little confuse, they are two different things we going to start off with features let’s say you looking for a smart tv and you want to know what comes with it and its called features. smart tv comes with a lot of things like Scroll on social media, Browse the web, features are facts about products or services. Now Benefits describe why those features matter and how they help the target audience. Let’s say you your customers buys some type of shampoo the benefits are your hair gets longer and stronger and healthy. (Brian and Dharmesh 2005-2024) Features are what the product or services does, describing which attributes set it apart from the competition. Benefits describes why those futures matters and how they help that target audience. For marketing messages, is typical better to go with a benefits - heavy approach, because benefits are what compel consumers to purchase.

Personas Personas are made up characters that brands use on their sites our anywhere else to help their target customers fine what they need. It also helps the designers to understand users’ needs experiences, behaviors, and goals. (Don Norman and Daniel Rosenberg 2002-2024) Personas are distilled essences of real users. In user experience (UX) design, you use personas to build empathy with target users and focus on their world. If products and brands even companies didn’t use personas, they wouldn’t be a working business clients wouldn’t exist to me if gives customers ideals of what they want our what they need when they see different personas. And the VW Beetle car was for who wanted a cheap, simple car low income didn’t care about showing it off they just love how it was simple. (Edrawmind 2024) It is aimed at dedicated and aspiring middle and upper-class customers who want and are looking for prestige, the appearance of being environmentally friendly, and the long-term cost-effectiveness of automobiles.

Writing Ad Copy that Sells Sales copy convinces and persuades customers to buy their proudest or services they tell you the benefits and features of their products It helps them to know what they are buying from the brand. What is the main purpose of a headline? The purpose of this headline is to let customers know that its easy to push if you run out of gas and if you have a big car, you will be on the side of the road for a long time. It’s easy on gas it doesn’t take much to fill it up either. What is the purpose of body copy? Is to get their customers to come on down and look to see how easy this car can drive and to push you want to sell your product and get your readers reaction. Why is a call to action important? They instruct the user on what to do next, prompting them to take immediate action. Whether you want your user to visit your blog, give you their contact information.

I Hope I did good I tried to think of a good story but I feel like this was teaching us how to write and how to get are audience and customers attention. This story is just about a man and his best friend and how he gave him a beautiful home.

MDM555 Week 2.

Brand Voice - Brand Voice is very important they use unique personality to communicate to their audience that’s how they speak to them by using different things. Without a brand voice the audience wouldn’t know their values and identity. (New rand design and logo 2024) “For several decades, Volkswagen has used a male voice to present its vehicles and for advertising purposes. The brand is now to become female. On almost all markets, a woman with a warm, pleasant, and confident voice will speak for Volkswagen”. This is about Volkswagen New Zealand they always had a man voice and now it’s a woman turn. Another example is “Think small” “brand campaign it was launched and 1990s, it was the most successful campaigns of all times. They never had another big campaign as that one it was focused on promoting the Volkswagen Beetle in the US market”. Volkswagen really came far with different design and campaigns they got bigger over the years.

Writing for Radio - Writing for radio is to be very creative with your Scripps you’re speaking to paint word pictures, to your audience when you’re writing for radio you must make sure you’re getting your audience attention, and it just can’t be boarding. Use big words hook your audiences get them to listen and stay focused on what you’re saying. (A CFI AND ESJ 24h in a newsroom 2024) “Radio is a fast, easy media that targets everyone, from highly educated people to less knowledgeable ones. The writing must therefore be short, simple, in present tense... easy to listen to and to memorize”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jyhQXxygtk

I like this international VW radio more than the other ones because it didn’t start off good to me, I felt like the beginning of the radio kind of threw me off a little because I felt like it wasn’t talking about the car, and it didn’t get my attention at first. But then listing to it more it started giving details about the car and what comes with it, so I stared feeling it. But they need to start off right next time maybe using different words or try to be more creative. The music was ok not too bad, but the music is going to get their attention at beginning not the end.

Brand Tone - Brand Tone can be a person that’s going to speak to the audience that’s going to get their attention just like a brand it’s going to be the personality the trait of a brand. (Roger Dudler 2013 – 2024) Your brand tone is the attitude with which you convey your values and beliefs; it's the way you speak. Your brand personality is your brand's traits and characteristics. Your tone and personality help to reinforce your messaging and the language you use by creating a more distinct and defined voice.

The ad’s that represent the Volkswagen their tone to me was a little playful to me at the beginning like the one that I had chosen for writing for radio then it gets serious. But all of them was not the same I felt like some of there tone was soft a little boarding like there was nothing there. Like some of them didn’t get the excitement on wanted to go the dealer and get a Volkswagen.

(Semrush Evolution 2008 – 2024) Tone of voice is the way a person speaks to someone. It refers to the choice of words, volume, pitch, and speed of the message, and can affect how the listener perceives and responds to the speaker.

For this challenge I felt like I think and take my time on what I wanted to say about the ad I did have a little trouble trying to do everything. This challenge was to help us learn how to do a ad and what to say and how to do it.

MDM555 Week 3.

Brand Trust - Brand Trust is a big deal if the customers don’t believe and the brand that they love there is no more of them coming back to buy your product. Not only that customers also look at the reviews to see what the people are talking about and if its positive there are going to start trusting you and see if you can live up to, but the feedback is saying about your brand. (Don Schultz 1977 – 2024) “Brand trust is the amount of respect and loyalty customers have for your brand, or how strongly they believe you can deliver on your promises. It is a public perception often shaped by a mixture of first-person experiences and company communications, for both of which marketing is a crucial component”. Sometimes you’re not going to have some customers that are going to be loyalty to you, and I feel like every company goes through that sometimes it all depends on how you treat them too.

Taglines - Taglines are catchy like a phrase that’s going to target their audience like McDonald's their phrases are “I’m Lovin It” slogan and everyone loves their food every time you see a commercial that slogan is right at the end of it. Another one is Red Robin there’s are “YUMMM” and everybody knows when you take that first bite it’s YUMMM. They know how to keep their audience and have them coming back for more food. (Indeed, Career Guide 2024) “A tagline is a type of advertising catchphrase that reflects a company's marketing strategy. They are usually short and memorable phrases that represent a business's brand or values. Taglines are a type of slogan that remains consistent for a long period. A company can create a new slogan for each marketing campaign, but a tagline will probably stay the same for years or decades”. State Farm is a big one it’s been around for years “Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is There”. That’s letting the audience know when they break down or need their help there right next to them like a neighbor that want go away. Each one represents there brand each one is known for their tagline if it wasn’t for their tagline these brands wouldn’t exist at all it’s just not about the food or the Insurance it’s that TAGLINE THAT’S GOING TO GET THEM coming back.

Public Service Announcements - Public Service Announcements are for the public and world to help make a change for once to see the public attitude and opinions towards it. I can give an example NO, really Clean out the Fridge that’s a big one when it comes to jobs know body wants to put their food and a fridge that is dirty. So, most jobs every Friday or Saturday they're cleaning out the fridge and throwing everything away no matter what it is. (Aaron Sherman 2012 – 2024) “A public service announcement, commonly known by the PSA acronym, is a message spread in the interest of the public. Their objectives are to bring about awareness about civic groups and more, and change public attitudes, opinions, or even actions towards an issue. These can be instructional, inspirational, or even shocking to elicit emotion and action. Their meanings can vary widely depending on the specific purpose. However, they generally aim to convey important information, discuss social issues, promote responsible behavior, inspire action, and contribute to positive changes in society”.

Feeding America is a nonprofit organization that PSA focus on feeding America asking for the world to help it can be volunteer, donation anything that would help the people that are hungry or the family that can’t provide all the time for their family. We America need to come together and help the people that really needs it and put our money towards something good. Another one is The America Red Cross there focus is on donating blood to people in need for help there all around the world there just asking for help trying to make America better again.

MDM555 Week 4.

Reflection Video

Refined Design Challenges

What I did different with this one is I did used a better picture that everyone would be able to see and what I wrote on it. And I made sure the logo was not to close to the edge and it was just right and I made sure the words was white and you can read it and the grammar I did fix and just wrote what I see and the picture. And my ad voice I wanted to do different and I feel like I did a little better with this.

optional challenge Week 3

This challenge you can see its not that perfect but I did try to do another one. I had fun doing this one it taught me how to take my time and make sure you write down what you wanna say first.

MDM565 Week 1.

X-Height

From a designer's perspective its every important that we pay attention on how we design we always want to watch how we do are typeface. (Insider 90s,2001 – 2024) ‘A font’s x-height is the vertical distance from its baseline to the top of the lowercase letters x, v, w and z. Note that rounded letters such as d, p, r and e extend just above the x-height line and below the baseline”. From another perspective, Collis Ta’eed, (2007) “The x-height is an important factor in identifying the type and its readability. Legibility can increase or decrease depending on the relationship ratio between the cap height and x-height in typography”

“Typefaces with large x-heights are generally considered easier to read at small font sizes, whereas small x-heights require more spacing between letters and larger font size to achieve legibility. Have a look at the sample below. While the Ageo font (with a large x-height) is easily readable at 12 pt, the Blauth font (smaller x-height) needs a 17 pt size to be considered readable”.

Visual Example: This example Is from one of research and I pick this one because I like how this use different examples for large X-Height, it makes typeface more visible at any given size. Allan Haley (2024) “The Spartan Classified font, which is designed to be legible at very small sizes, has a much larger x-height than the Futura typeface it was patterned after, which was intended for text composition within a normal point-size range”.

Font Families

From one perspective, (FontLab 8 2016 – 2024) “But know that font families are not the only way to structure your fonts! If you are doing work for clients, you find the best method to match their needs. If you are doing work for retail, you can focus on standalone fonts, as some foundries do. Others make font families using variations. Others make smaller families not making variations, but by drawing each style. (This is often necessary for scripts.) Others make collections of vector resources—a mix of letters and other vector assets. Here’s the basics of how it works. But first a brief history of the font family”.

John Lees-Miller (2012 – 2024) “LaTeX normally chooses the appropriate font and font size based on the logical structure of the document (e.g., sections). In some cases, you may want to set fonts and sizes by hand. The following example shows how to use the smallest available font size in LaTeX (\tiny) and the small caps (\textsc{...}) font style:

This example shows how the fonts starts thin and light to heavy and dark and it tells what type of font each one is. “Most families include Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic fonts; however, the most robust families will include weights that vary from the very light”.

Expressive Typography

In the first paragraph, Collis Ta’eed (2007 – 2024) “Expressive typography merges the use of type with visual communication—and often takes it much further than we would see in everyday typography. The type itself fully embraces itself as a highly visual medium. Think of it as type that not only says words but also communicates concepts too, with highly visual representation”.

n the second paragraph, Vitaly Friedman and Sven Lennartz (2006 – 2024) “Clever graphic designers love to use typography to explore the interaction between the look of type and what type actually says. In communicating a message, a balance must be achieved between the visual and the verbal aspects of a design”.

“Sometimes, however, designers explore the visual aspect of type to a much greater extent than the verbal. In these cases, the visual language does all the talking. This article explores when the visual elements of typography speak louder than words”.

This is an example from one of my types of research and I like how it is put together it does seem a lot and too much, but it shows different Expressive Typography and one picture. They didn’t us to much color it was very creative of them and put together well.

Design Challenge

These project was to help us create fonts and typefaces and see how we will do and learn how to be a better designer for are clients and audience.

MDM565 Week 2.

Art vs. Design

Art and Design are different, and people get them confused all the time between the too. I feel like when they go to a museum, they really can’t see a different they feel like art and design is the same thing. (Cathia Klimovsky, EDEN Gallery 1997)Designs have to solve problems, while art should provoke thought and emotions. Designers work methodically with a data-driven or mathematical process, while artists work intuitively using their instinct. Art is perceptual, while a design is rational. Designs are created for others; art is for oneself.

I feel like if people took the time to learn the difference between the two everything will be easy because anywhere people go, they will be able to tell art and design apart. (Taso Du Val 2010) Unfortunately, the designer vs. artist discussion often deteriorates into ranting and raving. Lines are drawn, battle flags are raised, and productive dialogue becomes impossible. Design is art. Art is design. No exceptions.

This example tells a lot about art and design it breaks it down very good and its obvious which one is art, and which one is design. And at the bottom it asks you are they the same thing which it’s not look at the colors look how creative each one is. They took their time to show the world the differences of the two so people can get a better idea of the to.

Design Decision

Design Decision is very important epically when it’s time for you to do a design for the clients or the audience. (Kishan Gupta 2014) What is a design decision? A design decision uses data to prioritize user needs over design bias. Understanding human behaviors through analytics makes it easier to create effective designs by balancing between user needs and business objectives. Design decisions are what build the outcome of a design project sometimes it might get hard to make the right decision but sometimes you have no choice.

(UXPin 2010 – 2024) Design decisions define the direction and outcome of design projects. Designers use research and data to validate assumptions and eliminate biases during the decision-making process.

Making decisions is one part of this process. Design teams must also articulate their thought process to get stakeholders, engineers, and product owners on the same page.

This example is about a design decision if you look at the designs, they are different colors and shapes, but they don’t know which one to pick out or the color. And I feel like this example was easy to look at and understand you always want to make the right decision and make sure the design is put together right.

Types of Visual Hierarchy

Visual hierarchy is the principle of arranging elements to show their order of importance. Designers structure visual characteristics—e.g., menu icons—so users can understand information easily. By laying out elements logically and strategically, designers influence users’ perceptions and guide them to desired actions. Size – Users notice larger elements more easily.

Color – Bright colors typically attract more attention than muted ones.

Contrast – Dramatically contrasted colors are more eye-catching.

Alignment – Out-of-alignment elements stand out over aligned ones.

Repetition – Repeating styles can suggest content is related.

Proximity – Closely placed elements seem related.

Whitespace – More space around elements draws the eye towards them.

Texture and Style – Richer textures stand out over flat ones. (Daniel Rosenberg 2022)

Theses too pictures gives off Visual Hierarchy there are different types of these I like these the most I feel like and audience can see the meaning behind the pictures and how creative the designers were

Required Challenge

MDM565 Week 3.

Combining text and image can be hard sometimes for people because you want the design to go with the text or the text to go with the design. (Payman Taei 2024) “Studies continue to show that humans can better absorb information visually over just text; an important fact to consider the next time you create your next piece of content be it a Presentation, Infographic or rich graphics”.

“In order to create a well balanced design, you want to achieve a good relationship between text and images to support it. In this article, we're going to give you 4 easy to follow tips that will help you to more easily combine text and images”.

(Connie Malamed 2013) “In visual art and graphic design, a composition is the arrangement of visual elements into one cohesive whole. In eLearning and presentation design, every slide can be seen as a composition. The way that you combine text and image (including shapes) in a slide affects the message you convey and the visual appeal of the material.

For a cohesive design, text and image need to work in relationship with each other. Through placement, alignment, and balance you can ensure that they interact and work well together.

There are a lot of options for integrating text and image. What follows are guidelines for several approaches”.

I think this is a good example because if you look at it the pictures goes well with the text, they put it together very well and it get the audience attention. The colors also go wells with everything very creative.

The elements of visual design

I very like elements of design with very important because it focus on the important of a site, shapes, lines, and form. (Daniel Rosenberg 2002) “The elements of visual design — line, shape, negative/white space, volume, value, colour and texture — describe the building blocks of a product’s aesthetics. On the other hand, the principles of design tell us how these elements can and should go together for the best results. Many of the principles below are closely related and complement one another”.

I very clients and audiences doesn’t focus on the elements of visual design because when they see something dope, they take off with it they just looking at the design but not focusing on what makes it dope. ( Ran Segall 2024) Line,

The most basic visual design element is the line. In graphic design, a line is defined as a connection between two strokes. Lines are the building blocks of other visual design elements like shapes. They can also stand on their own to create emphasis or divide elements. Shape, Shapes are another basic visual design element that typically form the core of any design piece. Shapes are two-dimensional, self-contained areas. We typically think of shapes as geometric circles and rectangles, but they come in all forms imaginable.

These two pictures are very cool, and they give off a good example the colors, and the shapes and lines are put together well. Sometimes you have get into the design and fine the meaning behind it and see what you see.

The principles of design

The principles of design are broken down easy for people to understand and there are 12 (Taso Du Val 2010) There are twelve basic principles of design: contrast, balance, emphasis, proportion, hierarchy, repetition, rhythm, pattern, white space, movement, variety, and unity. these visual and graphic design principles work together to create appealing and functional designs that make sense to users.

(Clark Valberg 2024) Have you ever wondered what the principles were behind a great design? We’ll look at the seven principles that apply to classic and digital design, and how to harness them in your own work. Classic and digital designers alike harness the principles of design to shape their work, building on top of the elements of design to give cohesion to their pieces. When used successfully, these principles have the ability to transform designs, both aesthetically and in terms of performance.

This one is an example of balance something simple not too much most of the Principles are and this picture and the more we study all the Principles the more we will get it

MDM565 Week 4

Both these projects I did over and I like what I did with them and I love the feedback I got back the more I keep working the better I will get.

MDM570 Week 1

Sonic Branding

Sonic Branding can represent your brand and it can be anything with sound brand identity is the key word. (Chris Atkins 2024) “what is the sonic branding definition and where can it be used? Sonic branding refers to the use of sound and music in branding and marketing. It can be used in various forms of media, such as TV and radio commercials, video content, and even in-store soundscapes”. There is a lot of examples and a lot of brands that uses sonic branding like State Farm, Target. (lan Kaddouch, Benjamin Saulnier, and Yael Kaddouch 2010) “Sonic branding, also known as audio branding, is the expression of your brand through sound. It most commonly appears through a 'jingle' – a short, instantly recognisable piece of music or sound that customers link to your brand. Popular global examples of this are McDonald's ("I'm Lovin' It"), Apple (the startup sound their computers make), Amazon (the voice of Alexa, the interactive assistant), and Microsoft (the Windows startup sound). You might think of these as 'audio logos'”. (WIX 2006) Sonic branding can harness this power and create an emotional impact and connection to audiences, boosting both brand awareness and loyalty. Through associations, customers will recall your product or service just by a sound. An example I found was Netflix one of the biggest movie sites around the world there sound represents them without that Netflix wouldn’t be big.

Three Categories of Sound

The three categories of sound in audio branding are voice, ambience or effects and music. All three is very important when it comes to your brand and you’re trying to get your audience attention. (Multiton Bits 2024) We all see motion picture as an essentially visual experience, but we cannot forget the importance of film sound. A good sound track is often as complicated as the image on the screen. The entire sound track has 3 basic parts. (Paul Kessler 1999) These three types of sounds are crucial for a film to feel realistic for the audience. Sounds and dialogue must perfectly sync with the actions in a film without delay and must sound the way they look. If a sound doesn’t quite match the action on screen, the action itself isn’t nearly as believable.

Audio Logo

An audio logo is set of sounds used to identify your brand with the logo with it the sound effect and the logo brings everything together. (Clementina Palacios Cedeño 2008) An audio logo is defined as a sound, an effect, a short music clip, a musical riff, or a voice-over that typically lasts between three and five seconds. An audio logo is an important element within what is the sound branding of a brand. The audio logo, commonly also known as the sound logo, acoustic logo or sound logo, is the sound symbol of the brand and must be short, concise, easy to remember, and can be instrumental, sung or spoken. (Jacob Sanders & Paul Julius 2020) An audio logo is a brand asset, it is not the brand. An audio logo’s primary function is to deliver an emotional signpost to the brand itself. An effective sonic signature facilitates and accelerates attribution, recall, and with luck, propensity to buy. (Karsten Kjems 2004) he Audio Logo is the foundation for the brand’s Audio Identity, and as such, it can be reinterpreted to suit a specific genre, mood or region, etc. The logo can be reshaped and be made to serve in a great variety of contexts. For the example I picked McDonald’s because it’s been around for years before I was even born hearing that sound makes their audiences want more and come to eat there.

MDM570 Week 2

Selective Attention

Selective attention can be anything, but lot of selective attention happens and film editing movies they always try to get the audience to focus on the main character or focus on the big part and the movie. Selective attention can be when you’re talking to a friend in public and you’re just focusing on what the person is talking about instead of focusing on all the noises and what’s happening around you.

(Jude Weinstein Jones 2024) talks about Selective attention, or focused attention, refers to our ability to focus on one task and ignore other stimuli. When we talk about reducing multitasking, we often talk about improving our focus and only attending to one task at a time.

This article talks about Why is selective attention important in marketing. (Amazon Ads 2015 – 2024) In marketing, selective attention is the inclination for consumers to pay attention to messages that connect with their needs, beliefs, interests, and values. For example, if a consumer is hungry while watching a show on TV and simultaneously scrolling social media on their phone, they may be more likely to pay attention to the photo of a hamburger a friend has posted.

The comparison of these approaches of these two sites are they break it down very well on selective attention and how it works. They both talks about how it can be manipulating looking at a movie or being on your phone.

Selective Attention example for a video is Jaws – Blood on the Beach it starts off with a little boy and an older woman and the water and people playing and making noises. In the main character every noisy he hears; he thinks everyone is in trouble. He is to focus on the water in the people being safe in the sharks in the water. It starts off with soft music at the beginning, and in the middle and towards the end, that’s when people start screaming, and the music changes. I believe the scenes is to throw the audience off a little bit to make it seem like the shark is coming when people are running in and out and screaming and playing so it’s making it seem like oh my gosh a shark is coming, which is not.

Rhythm

Rhythm happens and films but it’s all about how you edit your videos and to get you audience attention it can be slow or fast, even long or short, but I feel like it have’s to have a meaning behind it. Editing your films, it’s all up to you what do you want your audience to see you and what do you want them to think.

(Teresa Neal 2011 – 2023) The rhythm of the film is defined in the earliest stages of pre-production. Creating an outline and script for your film, the rhythm and pacing of the film determines how you are going to shoot your scenes. After creating the script, some directors like to visualize this by creating a storyboard to truly define the movement of time within the film, and how the plot enters and exits each scene.

(Tavares Beverly 2002) Rhythm editing, also more commonly referred to as rhythmic editing, represents a comparative relationship between shots which function to control the pace of a film. Establishing a visual rhythm that pushes the pace of your film from one shot to the next is all about understanding how a shot’s physical length corresponds to a measurable duration and functions to form a pattern that is discernible among the audience.

The two sites I have are just a like they both talk about pace with the rhythm, and they tell how it’s important to focus on what you’re editing and how you’re going to do it and if you want to her your audience out their seats. They both also talk about how to cut and what you don’t want and make sure the timing is right.

Pacing

Pacing is all about speed, but you don’t want to go to fast and to slow you want to make it just right for your audience. One thing you don’t want to do is boring your audience that they don’t pay attention at all. You must pay attention to the editing of your videos are you doing too much is this the right pace for the audience.

(Francois Arbour 2024) Pacing is something that can be hard to put your finger on. What makes one film feel fast and fun, and another slow and laborious? It’s more than simply the number of cuts or the time between them. Pacing is something practical, as well as something intangible, that informs how audiences view a film and keep up with the story on the screen.

(CHRIS MACDONALD 2014) Pacing is something that can be hard to put your finger on. What makes one film feel fast and fun, and another slow and laborious? It’s more than simply the number of cuts or the time between them. Pacing is something practical, as well as something intangible, that informs how audiences view a film and keep up with the story on the screen.

And it’s not just with movies, either. Every video—from a television spot to a YouTube product review to a TikTok—really should be concerned with its pace. The question is: How do you define pacing and control it in your projects? While the answer may be a bit complicated, it begins to make sense once you start to combine all the elements of filmmaking together—from the script to the shooting to the edit.

The two examples are a little alike of course they talk about pacing, and I like how they break it down and videos of examples. They both pictures on editing it’s not easy to do this because it can be had sometimes. But they both talk about how to get your audience attention and not board them it’s all about the speed.

MDM570 Week 3.

Motion Graphics

Motion Graphics are designs that move that have a meaning and get the audience attention. Like you can have a logo that represent your brain and you put motion to it like Netflix how all the words pop up. There are a lot of examples but motion you can add anything to it like text motion can be animation.

(Raff Marques and Felippe Silveira 2015 – 2024) Motion graphics means graphics in movement. It’s the most straightforward definition possible. Oftentimes, motion graphics is also called motion design, making the relationship between movement and design elements easier to understand. Motion graphics is about bringing design knowledge to new mediums by adding the elements of time and space — thereby creating movement.

(Tommy Fotak, Simon Westlake, and James MacGregor 2014 – 2024) Motion graphics are a way to communicate with the viewer, and add depth to the story. Together with music and effective copy, they can give us a message. We use them to create ads, title sequences for movies, explainer videos, and to share information.

Both examples I have they are just like because they both talk about Motion Graphics, but they do have their own opinion about motion graphics. They both show you videos on both sites’ examples of motion graphics, and how it all got started and that how its animation and you can add anything to get that motion, but you want to make sure you get your audience attention still.

Difference between Animation and Motion Graphics

Animation and Motion Graphics are different, and people get them confuse because they both have to do with movement but there is a difference. Animation is about a lot of images moving and motion graphics is image giving moment and I see why people get confused because it does look like they are alike.

(Patrick Llewellyn 2009 – 2024) Motion graphics are a type of animation. While motion graphics describes moving or animated graphic design, animation is an umbrella term for the whole field of moving imagery, including everything from cartoons to claymation.

(PHILIP J. STEELE 1963 – 2024) Animation is the artistic process of animating or bringing still art to life. Animation plays still images in rapid succession, where the subject appears to be moving, think back to the famous children’s cartoons you likely grew up watching. Graphic design motion, popularly known as motion graphics, can be considered the child of animation and graphic design. Motion graphics communicate information through visually engaging icons and text, which is inherited from graphic design.

Both are very interesting the fisrt one talks about both and the third one talk about motion, animation, and graphic design and it compares them against each other and the difference off each. They both give good examples of the and hoping the audience understand what is different from the two.

Language of Motion Graphics

Language of Motion Graphics have 3 types of language graphic design, film and animation and all there are different from each other but belongs and the motion graphic family. Language of Graphic Design is typography, storytelling, and color. Language of Film is shot types and animation is haves to do with more images.

(Creative Bloq Staff 2014) Adding motion to the mix doesn't simply broaden the skillset of graphic designers, it redefines it. Photography becomes cinematography. Illustration becomes animation. Even the essential skill of layout morphs into something else, something more akin to understanding the rhythmic structures of music than the solid forms of print. Motion design is, in other words, a new language. And designers have only just begun to test the limits of its expressive power.

(Ashish Rohilla 2024) Delving into the psychology of motion graphics unveils a fascinating field that explores how visual effects influence viewers on a psychological and emotional level. Through deliberate techniques such as visual effects, animations, and transitions, motion graphics possess the ability to shape audience perception and evoke specific emotions.

Both resources explain everything you need to know about language of Motion Graphics and the emotions behind it. It’s important to know everything about the languages about Motion and the different.

And the last one was to practice the animation, so I did Valentine's Day and I feel like I did OK with that I know I need to work one on that.

Exhibition goes very well with fashion display of a selection of items. Exhibition gives good examples like museum, art gallery, park, library, exhibition hall, or World's fairs. MDM615 Week 3: Look and Feel.

Color Palette

The color palette chosen for Couture Fashion Show goes very well with the brand the first color I picked out was (Gray PMS: Cool grey 11 | CMYK: 44,34,22,77 RGB:83,86,90 | Html: #53565a). I’m starting off dark first I want that to represent people that like to be simple and boarding. Because it is a fashion that some people like to dress as they don’t like to do too much, and it fits well with people don’t have no idea about fashion they just to throw on whatever they see and go.

The second color is (Black HEX RGB СМУК PANTON #19191 25, 25, 20, 0, 0, 90) the back represents goth (Jon Swinstead 2015) “Goth is a music category, a fashion style, a lifestyle, and is often characterised by an affiliation to a ‘dark’ aesthetic. Goth developed from various other youth subcultures, including punk, and evolved from these underground origins in the late 1970s to a more commercial visibility in the 1990s”. It all startedandthe 70s and I felt that it should be part of the fashion.

The third one is a (light Green PMS: 372 | CMYK: 16,0,41,0 RGB: 216,237,150 | Html: #d8ed96) And I wanted that one to represent luxury everyone loves brand-names in fancy expensive clothing. This one represents people that loves to be creative and a little bougie and that are all about attention and compliments. And that loves to post anything they buy expensive and put it on social media or platform.

Line Quality

The line quality I have picked out for Couture Fashion Show was very simple not too much the first one is black and white and that was stand for goth and that just like the colors too. I feel like at a fashion show or even at a concert they don’t start of big. They going to have an opening to start off the show.

The second one is the one with all the colors and that looks old fashion not up to date. I picked out that was because it had a lot of colors, and I loves the pattern it was creating. If you look at the picture, you see the patterns going different ways with the lines. This one will bring a little was excitement to the show.

The third one is the bright colors, and I wanted that one to stand out for luxury and that one is going to have the fashion going crazy. That’s when all the expensive, quality clothing will be on the models walking down and you will see all the creative work at the end. The brightness of the colors will also be lights going everywhere at the show.

Imagery

The imagery I picked out for my brand I love I tried to picked pictures that is going to go well with my brand idea. Different designs and fashion walking the runway. The first picture is the lady and black and white with the crowd on the side I love that photo because you don’t know what she is thinking walking down. And you can tell it very simple not too much on her.

The second one in all black walking down and that represents goth and I feel like people don’t talk about them or having a fashion show. That represents the dark side of the fashion show and letting them have their moment. Not only that it shows that its ok to be different and dress a little different too.

The third one I want to talk about is all of them the pictures I have picked out just caught my attention and reminds me of a fashion show. And I feel like they know what they clients want and need. And they know how to keep their audience attention a couture is all about fashion a lot is hand made. (" Wikipedia) “Haute couture is the creation of exclusive custom-fitted high-end fashion design. The term haute couture is French, "haute" meaning "high" or "elegant," and "couture" translating to "sewing" or "dressmaking”.

MDM615 Week 4: Vision Board Presentation.

MDM620 Week 1: Logo Concepts.

Explain the process explored for the Step 1 content.

The sketches design decisions for Mandy Madison Fashion Show Concert I based it of that so what I did was try to think of fashion and designs for it. So I came up with shirts, pants, purses, glasses dresses even jewelry because when you go to a fashion show you see everything and anything can be fashion. I even tried to be fancy and do Fashion a little nice. What I'm going for is luxury and goth there is all types of fashion and that is what the concert is going to be about. And the Link and website I have picked was very helpful and that's where I got most of my designs . It gave me the idea of what I should and use for my designs. Both designs help me to be very creative.

Include at least one visual aid that helps to illustrate the design decisions made.

The reason I picked this visual aid because it goes very well with my designs as you can see and the video they almost have they same thing I have. It's was very colorful and I feel like it was very creative and everything stood out. This is what I have on my Tone and Feel and Vision Board last month and this is what I want the Mandy Madison Fashion Show Concert to be all about I feel like they got there audience attention with the color they had.

Explain why the logos circled are the strongest choice. Make sure to explain all three in detail

The three I have picked out was number 15, 24, and 22 the first one is a Mannequin Display and I feel like it was a good example of how all designers start designing their work. I felt like it went well for one of my sketches this brings it back to the middle of the 14th century, and tell this day. The second one is 24 and its the hat with the lips I feel like the hat is going to stand out but the lips is going to bring that look out more it's just not all about what you wear but how you wear it. And the lips of the color is going to get the attention you need and the hat is going to help the lips pop out. The third one is 22 and its Fashion so I did is tried to make it a little fancy and have it stand out so I tried to but a little twist to it . I'm going for fancy, luxury, goth, and simple I want the concert to be example of everyone not just one group or style of fashion.

MDM620 Week 2: Logo Refinements.

Introduce the project.

Mandy Madison Fashion Show Concert for people that hate wearing the same close and that likes to mitch match. And People that love to put things on social media. And for the people that like to stand out and like to be noticed. And they want all the compliments they can get. It’s also for people that like to dress luxury and goth and just trying to bring different styles together. The purpose of this brand is to show another artist that anything is possible you can turn a concert into anything you want.

A. Logo Option #1

This design features are earrings with the word sing in the middle with microphone hooks so what I did is I went off the step one and the sketch 18 was regular earrings with the word fashion. So, I made sure with this design I add a whole brand name with it. And I needed to make sure that the design went with the brand it needed to stand it.

B. Logo Option #2

Clothes stand mannequin goes well the brand, so I did it made it a little better and added the brand name with it. But I also put a little shade with the design when you look at step one you can see it was a little boarding, I had to make it a little different so it can go well with the brand.

C. Logo Option #3

The design is a perfume bottle with music coming from It so when you spray it music notes is coming from it. I had to bring the design and brand together because it’s representing the concert. It’s not only about the fashion it’s a concert with music and dancing with it. The sketch I had before was very plain without the logo and when you look at you know it’s part of fashion but that’s it.

D. Logo Option #4

This design was one of the three I like I tried to be a little creative with is one. So if you look back at step one you can how it’s just fashion there’s nothing really to it so I added Mandy Madison show concert with and had fashion and the middle of it.

E. Logo Option #5

For this design was clothes a shirt and pants just something simple not too much or too little but I wanted to add lines with it, so it wants look to boarding. With the brand name with it.

F. Logo Option #6

That design is unique with the hat and lips for step one you can see that fashion show was there but nothing else. So, what I did is make it look like she is singing with music notes coming out. Also, with the brand name right under neath it to make it pop out and I feel like it makes it look so much better.

Design Decision

Each design decision I made for the project was to look like the brand name and I feel like most of them did. The six I have really do stand out and they are my best ones wanted each sketch to represent the concert in the fashion and I wanted them to come together. I feel like my design will get my audience attention maybe clients.

References:

MDM620 Week 3: Logo Vectors.

Explain why the Step 1 content effectively informed the decisions made for the selected designs.

Looking back at the feedback on the video it really helped me to design some of my drawings differently. As you can see and step one, I got the six and wrote what I feel should be done to each one. So, what I did is I took the two best ones that I know would be easy for me draw and be a little creative with the designs. Coming up with each design wasn’t easy and trying to design something that haves to do fashion and a concert.

Step 2 of this assignment. Cite the sources of information that helped you arrive at this design solution.

As you can see, I went with the hat with lips and perfume, and I felt like these are my best and I knew I can do something with them. What gave me the hat idea was (Emily Dix, Matthew McGrath and Thomas Beattie 2012) “In the early Edwardian period, hats were a fashion accessory, rather than a necessity. Most were kept fairly small, sitting on the top of the head atop a pile of hair. More masculine styles had begun to emerge during the 1890s, and some of these were still popular during this period. Women were seen wearing traditionally male styles such as the “Boater” or “Trilbys”. Bonnets had grown out of style, and women preferred hats that soared above the head, sometimes called “3 Story” or “Flower Pots”. Knowing that these hats are still in style and to know where it started from, I thought I should bring it back and do something different.

With the second one I thought why not be creative and put music notes with on the side of it so it can stand out for both. (Chicago Reader 1971) “That’s been especially obvious as I’ve started doing perfume-album pairings, which involves finding a perfume to wear as I listen to an album on repeat. Each time I do so, I learn something new about the music that I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. It makes sense on a favorite basic level: I’m approaching both works with more intention and involving more of my senses for a more full-bodied experience. Importantly, this practice has helped keep my love for perfume and music alive”.

MDM620 Week 4: Style Guide.

MDM650 Week 1: Media Choices and Planning

Rationale

• Research - (William Donaldson and James Hennegan Billboard 1894) “But it was only appropriate Swift would to the stage again to close the night, this time performing the television premiere of “Style” — a fitting song for the occasion. Dressed in sheer black lace lingerie this time, she flaunted her long legs with some dramatic moves, flirting her costars onstage and closing the segment alone on the runway with a pose to the camera”. This site was very helpful to me because it gave me ideas on how to do my billboards in the bus stop poster it had the singers interacting with the models. It was about the fashion not the artist at all it was about what the models was wearing and what styles caught the audiences’ eyes. My concert is going to stand out in I will let the fans know it’s not about Mandy Madison it’s about what you wear in how you wear it.

• Solving Problems – My design process was not that bad it did take a lot of thinking and drawing because I was making sure everything came out perfect. Trying to design a logo animation in social media package was harder than I thought. But I knew the more practice the better the lines must pop out and be right and the logo haves to be on everything. Thinking more a about fashion in not the concert is not going to be that bad in I should not over think at all. Visual Aid, product placement, lighting, color theme, the spacing between the products, or the creative layout and design.

• Collaboration – Throughout this assignment I got a lot of feedback from my instructor with the zoom video. My instructor gave me feedback on what I should focus on in what it should be about. And that is what I did with sketches I made sure it was all about the fashion. Other than that, I did research for everything else in that has taught me on what I should in how to everything out.

• Acquiring Competencies - Engaging in this coursework I did use Adobe Acrobat that help me out with this assignment. Not only that doing the last two assignments has taught me to look back at my calendar in change how I’m going to do things for the rest of the month. This week has taught me to ask for help ask questions in take your time and join the zoom video so you can get the feedback from everyone.

MDM650 Week 2: Media 1.

Step 2: Design Rationale

Research – (Debra Cannon and daughter Colleen Winter 1996) “Whether it’s for an arena show, a music festival, or a smaller, more intimate event, choosing the perfect concert outfit is part of the fun of a perfect night out. Concerts provide a boost of high-energy fun, and they’re the ideal excuse to dress up”. What I like about this site is the different styles they have they kept it simple in they didn’t do too much. This site gave me the idea of what I should do with my project and how I should bring everything together. So, with my billboard in bus-stop I was trying to be a little creative with the pictures I made sure they weren’t going to be too much and perfect going with the logo. This site has taught me that fashion comes with different people in styles, and you got to know how to wear fashion.

Solving Problems – My design process is a look better I used different pictures that was going to pop out and then I changed the background to both projects. The Billboard I used circles and dots to bring everything together. And I made sure the logo was there but not too big or small. And the bus-stop one I made sure the wording was readable and the color was white and wasn’t not too big or small just right. I made sure that both projects were big enough to fit what I was doing I made sure the background in colors didn’t overlap anything. I tried to design both my projects to match my brand it’s about fashion, but people need to know who Mandy Madison is so I went with the two pictures because I thought it will get my clients attention.

Collaboration – I met with classmates, and we went over everything we gave each other feedback and what we should do different. It was an hour we helped each other out and I feel like that’s good because it helps to know what we need to work on and why we need to change somethings. Not only that I can I did the life with the instructor, and she gave back a lot of feedback on my work she let me know what I need to change and do.

Acquiring Competencies – What I learn was to play with all the adobe apps and not be scared not only that I learn to not be scared to be creative with my work and its ok to get feedback. Because if you don’t you will never know what’s wrong with your work. It’s all about the brand your design needs to represent your logo. This is not about just a logo what represent it what makes it stand out. The fonts need to me right even the pictures.

MDM650 Week 3: Media Asset Production

Design Rationale

This week I focused on editing my billboards and bus stop poster and I did my Facebook account. My goal was to get the hardest things out the way I made sure my logo was a part of brand and I made sure there was nothing on it and everyone can see it. I made sure that everything came to together. I made sure that my Facebook looks like my Instagram, and I made sure I used the same pictures so I can keep everything the same. (Howard Love 2005) A fashion designer is responsible for creating the specific look of individual garments-including a garment's shape, color, fabric, trimmings, and other aspects of the whole. The fashion designer begins with an idea of how a garment should look, turns that idea into a design (such as a sketch), and specifies how that design should be made into an actual piece of clothing by other workers (from patternmakers to finishers).

Solving Problems

So, what I did is try to use the color gold and black people it mad the model pop out more and the color she had on. Not only that I found a beautiful black woman with a big hat that represent my brand in my logo. It went very well with the background and everything and I made sure that every design wasn’t all over the place. I made sure this time the fonts were good and that I added back the concert to every design. I made sure I did my research base on my design and logo what is the important things about fashion and hosting a concert. I also made sure the billboard and bus stop poster were big enough and not too far out I wanted people to see my design close without blowing it up. I also but a scanner on it saying get to know me so people can see what she is all about.

Collaboration

Collaboration I did was I meet with classmates, and we went over schoolwork and are designs we talked about how we can help each other and see what we can do better. Not only that I met with the instructor, and she gave back was good I’m happy I got what she was talking about and did it right. So, we try to meet up every week to discus different ideals and see what we can do better with are projects.

Acquiring Competencies

What I learn this week was to take your time and not give up because it’s going to come together you just really need to be patient. Not only that we were able to be free using different platforms to design are work which that was good. We can be creative with are designs and logos. It’s very important to get the feedback on are work turn everything in on time and go to the live zoom as much as we can.

MDM650 Week 4: Brand Asset Completion.

Research

(Jen Campbell, 2016) “The weather: The last thing you want is to be shivering cold or sweltering hot as you belt out your favorite songs, and that’s why the best concert outfit ideas work with the weather — not against it. We suggest checking the weather app before the show and wearing layers to help you stay cute AND comfy for the entire concert. The music genre: While your outfit doesn’t have to match the genre of the concert, it’s way more fun to dress the part! For example, a western hat would look right at home at a country jam but may not match the vibe of a rap show. (To give you more ideas, we’ve listed our favorite concert outfits by genre down below!) The artist: Every music artist has their own style, and there’s nothing cooler than wearing a concert outfit that reflects that. You can even get ultra-specific and channel the theme of the album (or should we say the era?) with your concert outfit ideas. Swifties already know the drill! The venue: Are you going to an outdoor stadium concert or a small basement show? Will you be standing or sitting? The concert venue can make a huge difference in what outfit you decide to wear — from your shoes (comfy sneakers are a must for a standing show) to your accessories (grab some sunnies for an outdoor venue)”!

What I like about this site is that it was very colorful and simple it talked about fashion and concerts and what you should wear. And I feel like that was helping me with my designs and brand name. It tells you everything you need to know about fashion and concerts put together. The models they had was beautiful and they each had different styles on, and they each had different hair styles. I love how each model style spoke out like there was a meaning to them.

Solving Problems

The problems I had was my billboards and bus stop poster what I did different was I made sure there was something people can go to and find more about Mandy Madison and what she does. I also worked on my logo animation and this time I did it a little different I had a white background, and I had the hat in the middle with the work at the bottom of it with gold coming around it. And I thought I would be a little creative with it and let pop out more. I kept my letterhead package the same I feel like I did a good job on it. I look up different designs and concert fashion designs shows I tried to fine things that will help me with my brand name. I feel like everything came out good and I’m ready to show my work off my hardest work was everything trying to put everything together and make sure it comes out right.

Collaboration

Yes we talk on the app we are all a part of and we gave each other ideas and what should be done and if it was too much now, only that we did the instruction class Monday and Thursday, which it was good and I got a lot of feedback from the instructor, which that actually helped me to know, what ideas and design, and what I should work on now and yesterday we met up with two of my classmates to go over assignments, and one of the projects so we gave each other feedback to try to help each other out. Which it was good we were not scared to ask for and to see each other work. And we are pushing each other to the end because we know sometimes it gets hard.

Acquiring Competencies

What was learn this week was everything how to keep up with are calendared and try to keep up with it and anything we write down try to do it and not give up. Not only that I learn not to give up and keep going do what you can give your all. Never be scared to get feedback or ask for help. I learn to take my time and figure out what I want to do with my design. How would I get MANDY MADISON to pop out to let my audience know who she is not only that to work on my vision board how would I make MANDY MADISON to match with my brand also. I learn to take everything this class has taught me with me everywhere I go even and the industry so one day I can get ready for what they throw at me.

What I got from the Case Study A/B Testing reading was that it broke everything down even and the video. How to solve a problem and how to research it also broke down how to interview. It helps determine which of two different assists performs better with using A/B Testing this is going to help us with projects and even getting into the industry this is going to help us fine the problem and see what we should next. (Dennis van der Heijden 2008) What Is Quantitative Data?

“Quantitative data is all about raw numbers. Our goal when analyzing this is to provide direct feedback on how each interaction is performing on our site and to assign an actual numerical value to it”.

What is Qualitative Data?

“Quantitative data gives us the raw numbers of how the page or app performs, but it doesn’t tell us why those things are happening.

That’s where qualitative data analysis comes in. It helps us understand why things happen (good or bad) so that we can then form a hypothesis of how to improve them”. If we follow each step of both are designs well be better and are projects will be on point this is going to help us do everything smooth, I feel like each designer should into this it will be easier even for the industry people they can even learn from this.

The Importance of Moral Reasoning and Ethics in Media Design

Wally Snyder (2011) Talks about how we should build consumer trust especially Advertising and branding. Without their trust we are nothing they act as a guide to help designers achieve design that is ethical.

Consequences of Unethical Practices

One important consequence of unethical advertising practices is advertising aimed at children. Just like in the case study Wally Snyder talks about protection children around the world when it comes to Advertising children can take things the wrong why. (Evan Williams 2012) Advertising plays a significant role in shaping children’s desires and preferences. From a young age, children are exposed to a barrage of commercials and promotional materials that resonate with their interests and capture their attention. The toy industry, recognizing the impact of marketing on their target audience, invests heavily in advertising campaigns to maximize profits. Another article that I think agrees with Wally Snyder when he talks about Behavioral Advertising “research shows that consumers fear that behavioral targeting infringes on their personal privacy. Also, consumers are not always aware of the information that is being collected, or how it is being used”. (Tyson Quick 2012) Behavioral advertising (aka online behavioral advertising or “OBA”) allows advertisers and publishers to display highly relevant ads and personalized marketing messages to users based on their web-browsing behavior. The primary purpose is to deliver targeted ads to the behavioral market segments most likely to be interested.

Questionable Use of social media in Marketing

The case study social media advertising for clinical studies: Ethical and data protection implications of online targeting (Sara Miller McCune 2001) “We show that social media advertising for clinical studies in many cases violates the privacy of individual users (R1), creates collective privacy risks by helping platform companies train predictive models of medical information that can be applied to all their users (R2), exploits the weaknesses of existing guidelines in (biomedical) research ethics (R3) and is detrimental to the quality of (biomedical) research (R4)”. Why I feel like this is questionable because social media can cause confusion and it can have you thinking all types of things. Advertising medicine can get your audience attention, or it can get everyone talking.

Impact on Brand Development and Sustainability

(Dr. Shu-Kun Lin and Dr. Benoit R. Turin. 1996) This research is focused on studying the impact of ethical marketing practices on value-adding product sustainability and customer brand relationship sustainability. It further investigates the consequent effects of value-adding product sustainability and customer brand relationship sustainability on brand loyalty. (Snyder 2011) How do we make the case for enhanced advertising ethics? How do we convince marketers that enhanced advertising ethics is a major component in building brand loyalty and trust with consumers?

Wally Snyder (2011) Talks about how we should build consumer trust especially Advertising and branding. Without their trust we are nothing they act as a guide to help designers achieve design that is ethical.

Conclusion

Moral and ethics in media design is very important we must understand that building that trust with consumer will make are brand better. Not only that it shows designers how to work with colleagues and clients. We need to know that Wally Snyder broke everything down and the case study he told us the different between Advertising Ethic what comes with it. And not all Advertising is bad our good.

MDM691 Week 3.

What kinds of legal problems can emerge and in what ways can media designers avoid them when creating work that incorporates images created by the designer or acquired from other sources, including photographers and illustrators?

Media designers go to challenges when it’s time to copyright issues they have a hard time trying to own their own work and not let no one steal their idea or design. You be Visual and Graphic Artist you need to know about copyrights.

(Thorvald Solberg 1897) First, copyright protects original works of authorship, including original pictorial, graphic, and sculptural artwork. A work is original if it is independently created and sufficiently creative. When it comes to copyright, creativity can be demonstrated in a variety of ways and reflects artistic choices like the subject matter, composition, depiction, and the use of the elements of design.

Second, you should know that copyright protection exists from the moment an original work is “fixed” in a tangible medium. In the visual arts, for example, fixation occurs when you paint a picture or create digital art.

Third, you should know that as the copyright owner, you have the right to make, sell, or otherwise distribute copies; adapt the work; and publicly display your work, including on the internet. If you want to use someone else’s work in these ways, you must get permission from the owner.

How can media designers protect their own work from being used in other projects by their clients or by other designers, if that wasn’t the intention when creating the work?

Being a media designer can be very difficult people can use there work two different type of ways is Inspiration vs. Stealing. And I feel like some people don’t the difference and I feel like it’s important to let your clients know on how they can use your project or design. (Adrian Valeanu 2010) “Copyright disclaimers – Consider posting a notice of copyright or “all rights reserved” on your website where visitors can see it along with a statement describing the illegal nature of stealing your work. It may not stop every perpetrator, but it will notify those who are unaware of copyright laws about stealing content and also scare others into submission. It’s similar to posting an alarm sign in front of your house to deter thieves from entering. Even if you don’t have an actual alarm system, the thought of possibly getting caught is enough to deter them. Watermarks – Watermarks are a good deterrent and can prevent people from stealing your images. Designers typically do not like changing the look of their designs with watermarks, but many feel they are the best deterrent to theft. Some resort to a small signature and website logo on the bottom of the design as well. Copyscape – Use Copyscape to search for duplicate content online. I use the service regularly to assess whether my writers’ content is unique, and also to check the duplication of my personal content”. These three are the most important when it comes to protecting your project or your design. If designers study more on how to own rights to their designs, I feel like coming into the industry wanting to be a designer might be a little easy for them.

What are some of the copyright issues to be concerned about when answering an RFP for a potential client?

(Michael Higgins 2018) “When a potential customer sends out invitations to suppliers, asking for a proposal to fulfill a need for a certain product or service, they’re issuing an RFP. At its simplest, this process generates a series of sealed bids submitted by interested parties, and the bidder whose submission best matches the needs of the requester gets the contract”. Whenever you get an RFP, you want to make sure you Follow Directions, Gain a customer, not a Sale. You don’t want nothing to go wrong you don’t want to go overboard not every client will issue REP, but you always want to be ready for anything. (Aviva Cuyler 2008) “When responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), vendors should be conscious that they might be disclosing highly confidential or commercially sensitive material to the potential customer, with no guarantee of securing the proposed contract. Such information could, without any restrictions, be used by the potential customer to assist the vendor’s competitors or to develop solutions in-house”. You want to make sure you review all the details carefully.
