PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear Bluejay Family,

This Sunday’s readings remind us that following Christ requires courage and perseverance, even when it is difficult. In Jeremiah, we see the prophet thrown into a cistern simply for speaking God’s truth—yet God provided someone to help lift him out. In Hebrews, we are reminded to “persevere in running the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.” And in Luke’s Gospel, Jesus tells us that His message will not always bring comfort or agreement, but it will bring the fire of God’s love into the world.

As a school community, these lessons speak directly to our daily lives and connect to this year's theme. Faith is not about staying in shallow or comfortable places. It requires trust, courage, and commitment. For our children, that might mean pushing themselves a little harder in their studies, being brave enough to stand up for what is right, or showing kindness when it is not easy. For us as adults, it means setting an example of faith-filled perseverance, modeling what it looks like to keep Christ at the center of all we do.

As we begin the new school year, let us run our race with endurance, keeping Christ at the center of all we do. May our Bluejays persevere in faith, trust God more deeply, and experience the abundant blessings that come from venturing into the “deep waters” of their efforts.

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

“...let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith.” – Hebrews 12:1-2
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Morning Car Line Update

Thank you, parents, for helping us keep morning arrival safe and smooth! Beginning tomorrow, we will adjust our starting line up for our early arrivers. Our teachers are required to be on campus by 7:30, but several parents arrive closer to 7:00. When cars line up too early, it can make it difficult for teachers to park and get to their classrooms.

To help with this, we will place a barricade closer to the corner of Patrick Williamson and Railroad. If you arrive before car line officially begins, please wait at the barricade until it is moved and you are directed to pull forward to the stop sign. No one should use the right lane before 7:30am unless they are dropping off at morning care OR they are an employee who needs to park. Your patience and cooperation make a big difference, and we are grateful for your support in keeping things running smoothly!

BLUEJAY DADS

We are excited to introduce a new way for our Bluejays dads (and dad figures) to connect with each other, be more involved on campus, and grow in their faith. The mission is to empower dads through faith, service, and brotherhood. Be on the lookout for opportunities hosted by dads, for dads! You can find up to date info and details at our website too. https://www.scsbluejays.org/campus-life/bluejay-dads.cfm. You can also email us for more information at bluejaydads@scsbluejays.org.

FAITH: The first opportunity is for the whole family. We invite you to attend First Saturday Mass and then enjoy community and a light breakfast after. Mass is at 8:30 a.m. on September 6 in Sacred Heart Church. RSVP HERE!

SERVICE: Stay tuned for service opportunities!

BROTHERHOOD: Mark your calendar for Dad's Night: Football Edition - September 18, 6:30 p.m. at the Prejeans outdoor patio. All dads are welcome to join us for football***Dutch treat food & drink***building brotherhood.

Proverbs 27:17 — “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” — In a world that can dull our spiritual edge, we need brothers in Christ to challenge us, encourage us, and hold us accountable. Fatherhood is not meant to be lived in isolation; men grow stronger, wiser, and more steadfast when they encourage, challenge, and support each other. Just as iron becomes sharper through friction, we refine our character, deepen our faith, and strengthen our leadership by being in community with other men who share the same calling. We sharpen each other for the mission God has entrusted to us.

4-H Cloverbuds

St. Cecilia will offer the Cloverbuds program (grades 1–3) as part of 4-H for the 2025–2026 school year. Meetings will be held the first Thursday of each month from 7:30–7:55 AM in Mrs. Jenna Crochet’s room, with additional fall and spring socials. A registration fee will be charged in October or November once enrollment is complete.

This year’s artwork will begin being posted in a couple of weeks! Should you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Angel.
