Cowbridge Lower School Newsletter 10.05.24

A lovely sunny end to the week meant lots and lots of fun in the sun ☀😎

Nursery have been learning about caterpillars and butterflies this week. They made butterflies by using paint and folding the paper in half! They were also very excited to have a delivery of real caterpillars to the class that they are going to grow into butterflies and then release them when they are ready 🦋🐛

Nursery have been busy making water stations in their outside area. They worked as a team to pour the water down the channels and collect it in a bucket at the end! It was lots of fun!

Nursery had a great P.E. lesson in the sun! It was lovely to use our lovely big field and P.E. equipment to practise skills ready for sports day! Nursery always love having the big parachute out! It is so much fun 🪂

Reception went for a walk down to the woods to add some legs to their centipede they made in class. They had to find 100 sticks, it was quite a job!

Reception added a new page to the Superworm book, then made their own book using a different minibeast. Their writing was beautiful and we loved looking at the progress the children had made since they started in Reception.

To celebrate National Worm Week, Reception went down to the woods to 'charm' some worms out of the ground by stamping and making vibrations on the ground!

Wishing everyone a happy, sunny weekend! ☀
