Last Week's Highlights
APPS TEAM
This week, Pags traveled to CB West with Kevin, Laurel, and Chris to begin implementing attendance scanning. Brainstorming with Laurel and Chris, they developed a method for scanning MBIT students for attendance tracking as they enter school during lunch and learn at the high schools. Pags collaborated with Special Education to develop a form, flow, and shared folder for the BCIU. They met with Centennial School District, along with Jason and Lindsay, to discuss their CVLA program and dual enrollment. Pags continued to support teachers in accessing digital tools, including setting up access to new handwriting tools for all 3rd grade teachers in CB. Kevin attended the T&I department meeting at the Flux Space in Norristown to collaborate as a team and work on goals for the 24-25 school year. Kevin, Anthony, Chris, and Laurel visited CB West to plan for testing Campus Workflow (student scanning) for the attendance office and MBIT student arrival. Kevin also assisted CB East, Titus, and Warwick with sending communications to parents about missing one-to-one enrollment. He is still working with our help desk vendor to resolve issues with staff ticket submission. Laurel and Chris worked together on a survey opt-out form for a survey to be conducted for the district and students in grades 5-12. Laurel and a small team went to CB West to review attendance scanning for MBIT students and late arrivals. She collaborated with a group to review the Major Behavior Events in IC in preparation for the Spotlight pilot at Linden and Butler. Michelle created an EL Report to assist Melanie Kok with WIDA Accommodations, worked through Safe Schools updates for the 2023-24 data, attended the Monthly Department Meeting at Flux, and participated in the DQN Meeting at Bucks IU. Michelle also began Act 158 reporting on the 2023-24 data and uploaded the 2024-25 Winter Keystone Test Sessions to DRC.
BCS TEAM
Harry coordinated with Adam Parsons and Harrison Radovich to manage multiple building coverages and configure new Clear Touch Panels in the secondary schools. He attended the department meeting, collaborated with colleagues, and finalized goal setting at Fluxspace. Harry consulted with Matt R in operations to review all Clear Touch panel mounting MR’s in FMX and updated the building techs accordingly. Additionally, he requested collaboration from the tech groups to develop an itemized list of steps for the Clear Touch panel RMA process to avoid staff miscommunications for future replacements. He worked with Jenny in Operations to ensure correct grouping of badge access for doors, confirmed with the Network Team that a few techs received the new CrowdStrike deployment for testing, and visited onsite at Holicong. Miles addressed multiple printer and copier issues, migrated an old OneNote to a Teams-based platform, and printed a 3D Clear Touch pen holder for a tabletop Clear Touch. Ryan G continued to handle routine tickets, deployed printers to PEN students at Pine Run, and communicated All-Call Paging instructions to the Butler and Pine Run admin teams.
ED TECH TEAM
Lindsay had a fun week filled with various visits and virtual calls. She enjoyed her trip to Fluxspace, where she worked on goals with her team. Lindsay had two calls with Neshaminy and Centennial to discuss their virtual programs aimed at expanding our CB Cyber program. She also held multiple realignment meetings with Ang and other group leaders to discuss MS schedules, HR surveys for teachers, and upcoming milestones for the initiative. Additionally, she enjoyed presenting to new elementary teachers with Jason during their annual Tech or Treat session. Sarah optimized learning resources to align with individualized student needs, explored new WeVideo features for educators during a meeting at Flux Space, and collaborated with Jesse to initiate the Canvas in Elementary pilot program with teachers. Jesse had a productive week, starting with a visit to Flux Space, where he held fruitful meetings with the Technology and Innovation Department and the Ed Tech Team. Throughout the week, Jesse diligently addressed iPad requests from Cold Spring, Bridge Valley, Doyle, Gayman, and Jamison. He also visited Doyle to collaborate with Jennifer Scala on various iPad-related tasks. To wrap up the week, Jesse worked with Kutz Elementary on integrating Canvas into the elementary curriculum.
HELP DESK
Kristie had a productive and engaging week, attending a department meeting at Flux Space, where she particularly enjoyed the quiet, intimate atmosphere in the Minerva room, finding it a great space for collaboration and discussion. She updated the 911 Inform system with the latest building, staff, and phone changes to ensure everything is current. Kristie also set up new accounts for incoming staff members, ensuring they had the access needed to hit the ground running. Beyond these administrative tasks, she provided hands-on support through multiple channels, assisting staff, students, and parents via the help desk, managing tickets, and helping over the phone. Chris R. had a busy week, visiting Flux and posting forms in Infinite Campus (IC). Along with Kevin, Anthony, and Laurel, he discussed student attendance scanning at CB West; currently, CB East and South are scanning late arrivals. Chris continues to support parents, staff, and students with technology and IC issues. Ashley, Will, and Lindsay worked on their team project, creating a WeVideo of their time at Lenape last week. The project turned out great and was shared at the department meeting at FluxSpace on Tuesday, receiving excellent feedback for its interactivity and the use of a new tool called AirPano.com. Additionally, Ashley assisted the help desk by answering parent portal emails and helped prepare materials for staff development, including printing and cutting papers. Lastly, she is assisting with Trade in Day 2 and pulling reports from the Canvas Course to see who completed the requirements. Trevor ensures that licenses for terminated employees are revoked and reallocated to new hires. He manages the addition and removal of employees from school groups and processes changes in positions. Trevor routinely monitors, assigns, and responds to support tickets and also addresses parent portal emails while troubleshooting technical issues over the phone with staff members, parents, and students.
