On 20th February 2025, the Centre for Digital Trust and Society (CDTS) hosted an insightful seminar featuring David Kennedy, Director of Arkenox Ltd., who shared his expertise on the future of internet connectivity and the security implications of IPv6. The event, held at the Nancy Rothwell Building in Manchester, attracted participants from diverse disciplines, fostering interdisciplinary discussions on the evolution of the internet.
About the speaker: David Kennedy
With a background in Threat Intelligence, David Kennedy specialises in identifying vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. He has collaborated with global organisations to design on-prem and cloud-based security frameworks. Notably, David has developed one of the few comprehensive internet-wide IPv6 measurement tools, providing unique insights into global IPv6 adoption.
In his talk titled "The Next Generation of the Internet: IPv6 and the Security Benefits It Provides to Us All," David Kennedy delved into how IPv6 is transforming how we connect and interact online. With the internet now a vital aspect of daily life, the transition to IPv6 is crucial in accommodating the growing digital landscape.
David Kennedy addressed several critical areas:
