Fried Ravioli with Marinara and a Tossed Salad

Garlic Bread

Our highly anticipated Ravioli Bar featured a tossed salad, garlic bread, and assorted Italian desserts alongside a variety of different types of ravioli and sauce. Guests chose between cheese, meat, fried cheese, and vegan ravioli with their choice of marinara or alfredo sauce and toppings including shredded cheese. This popup had students coming back for seconds!

Memphis-Style BBQ Nation

BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with BBQ Coleslaw, Southern Cornbread, Mac & Cheese, and Baked Beans

We served up classic BBQ favorites for Dinner at our Memphis BBQ Nation popup at Mongolian Grill on Monday, 5/6. Guests were welcome to have a custom-made pulled pork. Pulled chicken, or plant-based BBQ sandwich with classic sides including BBQ slaw, macaroni & cheese, beans, southern cornbread, and more!

Blueberry Bacon Tossed Salad

This fresh, sweet, and smoky salad was a perfect blend of flavors for our guests at the Salad Bar for Lunch on Wednesday, 5/8. Complete with fresh berries, queso fresco, roasted mushrooms, a balsamic shallot dressing, and more, this tossed-to-order special gave students a wide variety of salad options.

Smash Burger Bar

A juicy smash burger with your favorite toppings is hard to resist. Our Smash Burger Bar on Thursday 5/9 for Lunch encouraged students to top their burgers with all of their favorite veggies, sauces, toppings, and more. Complete with house-made potato chips.

Slider Bar

We finished the school year off strong with a Seahawk Fan Favorite: A Slider Bar! On Friday 5/10 for Lunch, students enjoyed mini sandwiches including fried chicken, pulled pork, burgers, and vegan p'rk with their favorite toppings and waffle fries - the perfect way to fuel up before packing up and heading home for the Summer!

Miley Café is proud to be a sustainable dining location, and we couldn't do it without the help of Planet Ozzi's Green To-Go Solution! Planet Ozzi, founded by Salve Regina University alumni, allows students to make a one-time purchase for a Green To-Go container that can be returned after use and exchanged for a clean container or a token to redeem for a clean container at another time. Stop by the Miley Café Host Station to purchase yours today!

Monday - Earth Day Salad Takeover

Salve celebrated Earth Day with a delicious tossed salad special at the Salad Bar for Lunch! Complete with a choice of local greens, quinoa, a wide variety of local produce including tomatoes and mushrooms, and a sweet & tangy blood orange vinaigrette.

Tuesday - Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

Guests enjoyed vegetarian Impossible and falafel burger bar with a wide variety of local toppings and sides including hand-cut fries at the Grill station as well as a custom Pizza special at the Pizza station complete with local cheese and vegetables.

Wednesday - Eat Local

Locally sourced products aren't only more fresh and flavorful, but it is also more environmentally cautious to package and ship these items. Guests contributed to our local dining initiative by stopping by the Grill for your choice of specialty Grilled Cheese featuring local breads, cheeses, vegetables, and herbs. Our salad bar also featured local greens, vegetables, and cheeses to make a hearty, delicious, and mindful salad.

Thursday - Sustainable and Locally Caught Seafood

Guests joined us at the Entrée station for Lunch to try locally and sustainably sourced fresh Arctic Char, served alongside local cherry tomatoes, potatoes, and carrots.

Friday - Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

We challenged guests to reduce their carbon footprint with plant-based favorites in Miley Café! Enjoy a Caprese Pizza featuring local tomatoes and cheese, a vegan grill popup featuring custom street-style pitas, and house-made desserts using local ricotta cheese and Aquidneck honey from right here on the island!

April - Authentic Middle Eastern Cuisine

Chef Parys introduced our guests to flavorful authentic Middle Eastern cuisine made in-house on Tuesday, April 16. Students topped Syrian bread with their choice of Lebanese Chicken, Kibbeh, Syrian Rice, Vegan Fasula Armenian Green Beans, Syrian Minted Yogurt, and more!

May - Authentic Mexican Cuisine

Guests were welcome to join us on Friday, May 3 to indulge in authentic Mexican cuisine to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Featuring a variety of street tacos with fresh sides, students couldn’t get enough of this zesty Mexican celebration.

With the Salve Regina Business Office in UCook - Friday 4/12

Grilled Cheese with Ham, Bacon, & Swiss

The Salve Regina Business Office took over UCook during Lunch on Friday, April 12 (National Grilled Cheese Day) to make Grilled Cheese Sandwiches to order for visiting students. While they had students waiting, the Business Office shared important information and dates coming up for the end of the Spring semester and to prepare accordingly for the upcoming Fall 2024 semester.

Sustainability Spotlight

Rhode to Impact is Sodexo's commitment to making a positive environmental impact in the state of Rhode Island through the purchase of local products, produce, services, and responsibly harvested seasonal seafood. Through Rhode to Impact, Sodexo is committed to fostering a strong economy in Rhode Island and creating inclusive market opportunities for local producers, aggregators, and fisheries.

Our seaside, New England location means access to some of the freshest, most delicious, and responsibly sourced fish and seafood possible. Red's Best, our seafood partner, is located in Boston and is committed to only distributing fish and seafood from small, local, independent fish boats supporting the local fishing industry and tradition.

Harvesting Good Local Broccoli Takeover

We partnered with Circle B Farms for their Harvesting Good promotion featuring locally grown broccoli. The proceeds of this local product go directly towards supporting the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine. Not only did we enjoy this fresh product at our Salad Bar, Soup Station, and more, but we were able to give back to our local New England community at the same time.

The Green Restaurant Association is a national nonprofit dedicated to making restaurants more sustainable. Restaurants generate more than 300 million tons of garbage every year. We work toward reducing this number by recycling, avoiding the use of polystyrene foam products, and have implemented many environmental steps to earn 176.97 GreenPoints. The Green Restaurant Association has rigorous standards in categories like water efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable food, and chemical and pollution reduction.

Innovative Culinary Promotions

Resident Dining Promotion

Boba Blast was such a success that we brought it back – but this time we elevated our Bubble Tea with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to make a float! Students chose between mango, strawberry, or taro tea and mango, strawberry, or brown sugar boba. These fruity and delicious tea-based floats were the perfect way to cool down and settle before getting back to the school day.

Retail Dining Promotion

There’s no better way to fuel for finals and satisfy your sweet tooth than delicious, stuffed, topped-to-order cookies with your favorite toppings. Guests were invited to join us at Miley Mart for this retail dining popup and were offered their choice of an Oreo Sundae Stuffed Cookie, a Reese’s Peanut Butter Sundae Stuffed Cookie, and a Birthday Cake Stuffed Cookie.

Salve Regina Student Weekly Dining Digest

Our Salve Regina Dining Dining Digest is our weekly newsletter posted on social media and printed and placed in residential and retail dining locations. The Office of Residential Life also sends these newsletters via email to on-campus students. These fun newsletters highlight upcoming events in Miley Cafe, retail promotions, important information, tips to get the most out of your dining experience, and more! We are thrilled to see this new communication technique gain some traction and we have noticed an increased number of guests reading and interacting with these newsletters. We look forward to continuing to produce these newsletters to keep our community informed in the coming Fall 2024 semester.

Salve Regina Dining Digest - May Week 1

Salve SGA Food Committee

We had a great year working alongside the Salve Student Government Association. The SGA Food Committee members bring detailed feedback about our dining program and offerings from their peers that our management team may not catch wind of through our feedback platforms. We meet with SGA biweekly to discuss feedback and ideas and to create strong and manageable action plans to follow through on these initiatives. We received a lot of great ideas and have been able to implement them into our program to create a more individualized dining experience here at Salve. We recently heard from the incoming SGA president and are working to start the upcoming Fall 2024 semester with a bang.

HappyOrNot

Our Happy or Not kiosks in Miley Cafe, located by the Miley Host station and the Mongolian Grill, are a great way for students to leave quick, personalized feedback when they don't have a lot of time to share their thoughts. Feedback is imperative to ensuring that our Dining Program is serving the Salve community the best that it can. These kiosks allow students to rate their satisfaction on a scale and leave any open feedback about improvements or additions they would like to see.

Monthly Client Deliverable Dining Digest & Recap

Creating these monthly client recaps has been a great way to share our successes and findings throughout the year with our Salve partners. We work hard to showcase culinary excellence, pride in food, and pride in service. While these experiences take place in the moment, these recaps serve as a way to reflect and acknowledge our team's hard work and our guests' meaningful feedback. Win-it-Wednesday

We wanted to end our Win-it-Wednesday program on a high note. We asked students what some of their go-to Summer and study drinks were on Social Media to gather valuable feedback to share with our Pepsi bottlers for the chance to win great prizes including ring lights, Apple AirPods, Beats Headphones, and more! Win-it-Wednesday is always a blast, and we can't wait to keep this fun and exciting giveaway program going strong next semester.
