Cowbridge Lower School Newsletter 28.06.2024

We have been having lots of fun in the sun this week learning all about rockpools and pirates! 🏴‍☠️🦜

Nursery have been reading 'sharing a shell' by Julia Donaldson. The children have been very focused on sharing and the feelings of others if we don't share. They acted out the story using headbands and props and also made their own rockpools!

Nursery really wanted to make an ice cream shop in their outside area. A big thank you to all the parents and Grandparents who sent in some amazing props to help with this! Nursery made their own icecreams using shaving foam, sprinkles and cones! It was so much fun 🍦🍧🍨

Reception have been having a fun filled week learning about Pirates 🏴‍☠️🦜 They read the story 'the night pirates' and made their own pirate ships! They figured out how to share parrots between the boats, made wanted posters, treasure maps and pirate hats. They ended their week with a pirate party, where they made their own musical instruments and sang pirate sea shanty's! Oh-ar!!

It was also a very exciting week for Reception... as they harvested the potatoes that they had planted! They had grown white and pink potatoes and they asked our amazing chef, Mrs Beaton, to cook them for their lunch on Friday for a lunchtime pirate party! Mrs Beaton surprised the children by making them pirate cupcakes! Blasus iawn! Diolch!
