Autobiographical Self Portrait Collage Skye Nagashima

Preparing for this project is getting me very excited. I'm eager for the final product. I want to express my love for the people in my life, the things in my life, and the places in my life that mean most to me. It's going to look very messy and scattered but that is how my life is! I want to use a lot of different mediums that are random and make the piece look chaotic.

My first collage consists of a bunch of things that are meaningful to me. I really like how we can be as creative and unique as we want with this project. It is really fun layering and masking different photos on top of one another. I recognize that these will be awesome for my portfolio!
The process has been very fun. I love playing around with different mediums like blending layers and making the light/color/transparency unique. I also have been using the lasso tool and the quick selection tool to select specific parts of an object and cut them out. The clipping mask is also a great effect that I've been playing around with. I'm excited to see where this collage takes me.
As time progressed, I started resorting to the quick selection tool and the effects tool to get a really diverse looking collage. I used pieces from previous classes to make this all come together.
I played around with a lot of tools and effects and it created a cool collage.
Finally, I added text and it all came together. I decided I wanted this piece to be scattered all over the place to represent how I feel most times. This is really special to me because it encapsulates my unique traits and is a portrait of who I am. I used images that I love, of things I love: nature. The text, "Let yourself just be," is my favorite saying.
