Ingoldsby Update July 2025

Thank you for all your support this year and for joining us at Sports Day yesterday. We were lucky with the weather! The children and staff have worked exceptionally hard this year and it has shown in their work and results.

What a busy term!

What a fantastic day! Children had the opportunity to train with Paralympian Laura Sugar. Laura even worked with hockey team after school ahead of the Summer Cup! Check out her blog and photos of the day.

Attendance update from Lincolnshire Council

We would like to remind all families of the legal framework surrounding term-time holidays and the issuing of penalty notices for unauthorised absences, in conjunction with advice from the Local Authority.

Please be aware that there is no right of appeal against a penalty notice once it has been issued. It is important to remember you should discuss any concerns you have with the school before a leave of absence is considered.

We understand that some employers may restrict when holidays can be taken, and that travel costs can vary significantly throughout the year. However, neither of these factors constitutes an exceptional circumstance, according to guidance from the Department for Education, Working together to improve school attendance (applies from 19 August 2024) and Resources for families | Children's Commissioner for England and therefore cannot be considered, as a valid reason for authorising term-time leave.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring that your child’s education remains a priority.

September is a chance for a fresh start with attendance. Those first two weeks set the scene for the rest of the year and establish good habits and routines.

Uniform

We encourage a healthy and active lifestyle here at Ingoldsby so pupils may wear their sports kits on PE days or if they have a club. Black trainers are permitted as part of the uniform. We also understand sensory needs, so allow leggings and a range of materials. we do not insist on branded items. We do, however, ask that all pupils wear our school colours and are dressed for the weather. Please label all items.

Toys

We understand that some pupils need support through items from home, particularly if they struggle with separation anxiety. Please make sure that pupil only bring one item that fits in their bookbag and tray.

Fidgets

We provide a number of scaffolds to support focus and concentration. These are not toys and if used as such, we will ask pupils to put them away.

Goodbyes

With great sadness, we say a, 'Goodbye for now' to Adam who won't be with us on a weekly basis next year. Adam has inspired so many pupils to take up dance or performing arts and that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. I have loved seeing the professionalism that Adam has taught to the pupils, showing them how to 'bring it' to a performance- a quality that can be applied in so many situations in life.

We still hope to work together on projects such as the Opera and dance days in the future but we will miss seeing his smiley face every Friday.

Goodbye and good luck to our lovely, kind and responsible year 6's! You are going to smash Y7!
