The facility campus will include a maximum/medium custody compound that is adjacent to the minimum compound.
Support buildings will include: administrative areas, food service, laundry, indoor and outdoor recreation, education and vocational classrooms, medical, mental health, dental services, indoor and outdoor religious areas, visitation, central warehouse, central maintenance, correctional industries and central utility plant.
This project will utilize the latest trends in correctional architecture and incorporate natural design elements to support mental health, increase mental engagement, and make positive impacts on the wellbeing of the population and staff.
Features include:
- Bringing in as much natural light as possible, adding to the normative feel of the building and the rehabilitative mission of the facility.
- A design focused on acoustics that facilitates proper sound levels throughout the facility.
- Rehabilitative programing spaces directly in housing units as well as separate vocational spaces throughout the facility.
